Best Accidental Music Purchase

Like many of us, I belonged to the Columbia and BMG music clubs back in the 80s. First best accidental purchase. I bought Jimi Hendrix "Are You Experienced". Was supposed to be cassette. Got a CD. Went out and bought a Magnavox CDB- 650 that week and began my digital journey.

Second, don't remember what I actually ordered, but got a "Kings of the Son" "Full Frontal Attack" CD instead. Still listen to it.

The Wallflowers: Bringing Down the Horse

BMG CD of the Month that I forgot to cancel. I usually just sent them back, but for some reason I decided to keep this one. If I were to rank my CD’s, it might make the Top 20. I now have all of their stuff…and I like their debut about as much as this one.

One of my first vinyl purchases when I was a kid. It was Jackson Browne's Running On Empty. I'd never heard of him or any of his music. I bought the album because the drum set on the album cover I thought was so cool looking. One of my all time favorite albums to this day and I am 54 now.

My wife thought she was buying me a Black Eyed Peas CD as a gift one time, she got the Black Keys, I have liked them since.

Looking through Cds at a goodwill I spotted a strange-looking cover on one.

I heard "Porcupine Tree" was great, and I now have a 1.00 CD of theirs to hear why. I put it in my cars' armrest.

Weeks later I was coming home from somewhere and I opened my armrest for some reason. There it was.

I put it in and........began to be amazed at what I was hearing!

I think I quickly went online and bought "In Absentia" after reading reviews of their top albums

I play "Deadwing" every 6 months or so. Loud. B)

The Black Keys: Brothers would be my winner, but I didn’t buy it “accidentally.” I picked it up at Movie Trading Co. and I have no idea why. I’d never heard of them and didn’t even know what genre it was. They are now my favorite band and I have all of their CD’s.
