Hey all,
is it possible to order the RD0198-1 tweeters via Polk officially, from Australia? the local Polk Support agent/supplier in this country says they arent available, but there are posts on these forums only 6 months old saying that the RD0194s were in stock at Polk, at least at that time.
Or even if Polk do sell them, does anyone know if there is stock of them at Polk at the moment? do i need to find them elsewhere anyway?
Thanks

Midwest has them in stock. I am not sure though if they ship to Australia.

Thanks yeah used them in the past for the first set of 5JRs I TL modded. Gave those to a friend, and finally getting round to doing my 'Junker' pair lol. Hope this doesnt get me banned LOL but I replaced the peeling brown vinyl with white woodgrain vinyl contact stick on stuff. I like the look, except that I didnt sand the chipboard enough. On these the back edge of the wood is exposed, and i think had humidity cause a bit of change of texture. Not swelling, but not not swelling, if that makes sense? Not sure if its the vinyl colour, or because the vinyl is thinner (and my lackluster sanding), but you can see the bubbling/texture of the chipboard in certain light /angles. Its subtle, so no big deal, and its the junker pair after all
But yeah, for the tweeters this time, I thought I'd try Polk direct. Partly for the satisfaction of engaging Polk direct, and partly to see if its a better price. (though, things in australia generally cost more than the exchange rate would suggest, so theres a chance it all evens out anyway) -

The Falcon has tentacles to Polk. If you're not in a rush let him chime in. -
Yes i can vouch that with the poor exchange rate its an expensive exercise getting RDO tweeters down here.

I'll certainly ask a friend at Polk about the best way to get them. It might take a day or so to get a response due to inclement weather.

I received a reply. Unfortunately there isn't a way to directly purchase a tweeter from Polk to Australia. A suggestion was asking if you might have someone, here in the US, who could buy one and forward it on to you?
