Monitor 7 rehab (what did I get into?)

Following up on my previous post where I recently came into a set of 7Bs with mismatched crossovers. Was able to find crossovers on eBay which came off the line on the same day! Will start soon with new components in the crossover, likely keeping fuse as I am not super handy as far as electrical stuff goes. Looks like heavy duty gold binding posts are recommended so will also add those.
I still have one locked up woofer, not sure if I plan to fix that myself or have the speaker repair guy in town handle it and glue the other one at the same time (https://www.speakerrepairguy.com/).
I currently have one cabinet with most of the veneer stripped off. This is really difficult, fickle stuff and I have already burned myself once with the heat gun. Ended up messing up the black veneer a little bit on the front...thinking I will sand, fill, and rattle can that just to make it look better. Otherwise, hopefully will start with new veneer in the next week or so.
Largely, I am trying to follow what this guy did: https://silverfacestereo.com/2013/08/23/how-far-can-you-go-polk-monitor-7b-rebuild/
I do have questions about his steps 5, 6, and 7. 5 - looks like I will need to use hurricane nuts as Larry's rings are no longer available. Is this correct? 6 - barrier insulation inside the cabinet. Is this still recommended and what should I use, where should I put insulation. 7 - woofer dampening? I am not even sure what to ask about this.
Thanks!
P.S. Anyone know how to get cat urine out of grill material? I have a set of NLAs and the previous owner's cat relived himself on these a long time ago. Steam cleaning isn't doing much.

5 Hurricane nuts, yes.
6 Line the inside of the cabinets, HELL NO! What you should do is add a 3x3 or 4x4 piece of Sonic Barrier behind each mid-driver.

7 Dynamat Xtreme, yes. You add some to the metal mid-driver and PR baskets to eliminate the metal from ringing. You don't have to cover every inch. Strips on the spokes is plenty.
Is that wood veneer or vinyl on your speakers?
There are plenty of cat urine removal products on the market.Political Correctness'.........defined

You should reconsider removing or at least bypassing the fuses. This is from a 7B...not good.

Yeah, I thought so too, but the razor blade tool made me wonder.
OP, with vinyl just heat a small area then pull it off with your hands while wearing gloves. Repeat until skinned.Political Correctness'.........defined
