LS800 review
When I went to pick them up, I determined the left SDA side wasn’t functioning. Everything else was fine. Turns out the binding post were broken off while trying to move. They replaced all the binding post. I don’t know what was wrong but made a deal hoping it was an easy fix. When I got home and hooked them up, everything was working properly. I assume something is loos inside, but I am not going to worry about it unless it goes back out again.
I spent the day running from my 1.2tl in one room to the L800 in the next.
Playing same songs on each one.
They both sound great and the imaging is great on both
If I had to explain, I would say the 1.2’s are warmer with better midrange.
The L800 are faster and more accurate with a better high and low end
I have no idea how many hours are on the 800’s.
I have 30 inches to each side wall so I installed some acoustic panels. I have no experience with them, but it really improved the sound. The SDA soundstage was wider, but still not as wide as the 1.2tl’s which have much more space to the side walls. I will remove the subwoofers between the speakers and side walls to see if that helps
I am not sure what want a wider soundstage as I am using in a 7.2.4 system with 4 in ceiling speakers. Running an Arcam AVR5 with a 7 x200 B&K amp.
Muck more listening to come. Also have Dirac but haven’t tried running that yet
Still early, but these speakers are even better than I thought they would be.
Thank to all the folks on the forum putting up with all my questions, especially Nooshinjohn.
I will be keeping the L800 and the 1.2tl’s for along time!

Seems to me, that big box in the middle is enjoying the sweet spot alone. I'd move it and bring the two recliners into the middle, or move the loveseat up into that spot. Maybe its distorted, but the love seat in the rear is pretty far back for a theater experience. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Picture is distorted due to trying to get the whole room in the shot
The couch is 12 feet from a 100 inch TV.
Thanks -

Yep, should be closer. 10 feet is just about ideal for a 40 degree THX viewing angle with 2.40 ratio movies. Move it up and put the recliners to the rear. 11.1 feet is the max recommended by THX. You aren't even seeing your 4K resolution at 12 feet. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
Where's the center channel?
-
Center is behind the black square. The room is below the upstairs fire place so there a space perfect for amp, receiver and center channel.

Agreed! My viewing distance is just under 1.5 x the diagonal width of my display. Which is crazy when you grew up watching a 24" tube television from across the room And what did moms always say when you were right up on it...."you kids better get away from that TV, you're going to ruin your eyes"Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

When I was young, I was Superman but now that old age has gotten the best of me I'm only Batman -
Now it is the opposite
- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
