These subwoofers have been rolling out the past few months but reviews are nearly nonexistent. Thinking about picking up the ES8 on sale for my small setup, but unsure how they compare to other market offerings?
Has anybody experienced them? Recommendations?

I have plenty of experience with Polk subwoofers but none from the current Signature Elite line. They look decent. The ES12 is comparably priced to the SVS PB1000 Pro and on paper performs about the same with the SVS a little better with a bit more powerful amplifier. They look very comparable in form too. It's likely the ES12 will be on sale regularly which gives it a price advantage. Looks like Polk has targeted the market below what a company like SVS makes.
Regarding the ES8 I wouldn't pay full retail for it but on sale it looks solid for what it is. Good luck! -

I've heard great things about the SVS subs, but they're notably more expensive in my country and seems like they might be excessive for my space & current setup. Is there a general rule-of-thumb to go by when selecting a subwoofer? Currently using ES15s in a small room and they've been great, wanted to compliment with a sub but their just isn't many reviews available on the new line. -
The only rule of thumb I go by is to try and best match the subwoofer with the size of the room and to best blend it with the speakers the subwoofer will be paired with. It sounds like you are on the right track and thinking the right questions.
The only reason to depart from that and to get a larger subwoofer than what is needed is for future proofing such as if the plan is to move the system to a larger area in the near future. If that is the case though another choice is to just add a second ES8 later on.
A manufacturer is likely to say buy the biggest subwoofer you can afford. That doesn't tend to be the best advice for the consumer.
If I had a system in my 10ft by 10ft office and felt the need for more bass I'd probably get something like the ES8 rather than the ES10 because of size considerations. Ported subwoofers tend to be larger than sealed subwoofers but also produce lower bass for the money. -
If you have Rel subwoofers available where you are the Rel T/5x is a good alternative option with an 8 inch driver in a sealed design but its driver is downwards firing so placement in a confined space may be more difficult.

I'll look into this too. Thanks for all the advice! -

Not all these brands are easily obtained in Canada, and the ones that are available are roughly 2-3x the price of what I'm currently looking at 🤷♂️ -
Yeah, there's a reason for that.Political Correctness'.........defined

Yeah, there's a reason for that.
Because the lot of them seem larger and more powerful than what I've expressed I'm after?
Very insightful! -
Ah, no smarta$$. It's because they are far superior in reproducing the clean, tight bass required for music.Political Correctness'.........defined

I’m going to have to agree with F1 on this. Couple of other brands could be included but not many and Polk would not even be in the top 10.2 Channel Rosso Fiorentino Volterra II, 2 REL Carbon Limited, Norma Revo IPA-140B, Lumin U2 Mini, VPI Prime w/SoundSmith Zephyr MIMC, Modwright PH 150, Denon DP-59l w/Denon DL-301MKII, WAY Silver 3 Ana+ Speaker Cables, WAY Silver 4+ Interconnect Cables, AudioQuest Niagara 7000 w/Dragon and Hurricane Power Cables
