B&K amp issue

The last 2 days when I came into the HT, the center channel speaker is producing white noise with everything off (I think) I have a B&K 7 channel amp hooked up to an Arcam AVR5 and using the 12V trigger to turn on and off. The receiver is off the the amp's power button is not lit up. No noise from any other speaker. If i manually push the power button off, the white noise goes away. Is it possible the 12v trigger is not turning off the center channel amp?
I have not gone to the back of the amp yet, as it is difficult to get to.

Any thoughts?

    If I remember correctly each channel on that amp has its own fuse that's easy to access on the back.

    The white noise goes away when I turn the receiver on and works fine.

    It’s just the one channel. I changed speaker cables and RCA cable. Nothing changed. I ended up using the Arcam receiver to power the center. No more hum. Has to be an amp issue.

    Have you tried grounding the amp?

    I have not I'll just let the Arcam power the center for now. I will start looking for another amp

    This reminds me of a very similar issue I had a long time ago with a manufacturer refurbished Marantz receiver and a five channel Rotel amp. The system worked perfectly for months but then developed the "white noise" phantom signal issue in the center speaker when the amp was in standby mode. I traced the problem to the pre-out on the receiver rather than a fault in the amp. My solution was also to disconnect the center channel pre-out from the amp and use the receiver to power the center speaker. I moved on to a dedicated Rotel AV processor after a few months.

    Troubleshooting weird new issues is not fun!

    I was thinking the same thing. I removed the center interconnect from the amp and receiver and still had the noise.
