Hey everyone. I was hoping I could get some help and recommendations.
I want to get new polk speakers for my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT regular cab pickup. Question: 5.25 round or 6x8 oval? Which speakers for front doors and which for rears. And what are my options for a sub?
Anybody have any experience with these Rangers?
I'd appreciate all your help!
Thanks in advance.
Mike

I would get the 5 1/4 components. Polk makes some 5.25 coaxials but dont have any comps yet. Some other options in the same price range would be Alpine Type X at Crutchfield.com or MB Quart Reference or Diamond Audio M3 series. Those are all fine speakers but my favorite would be the Diamond Audios.

As far as subs it depends on your budget, musical tastes and how much of your storage space are you willing to give up.

I'm not sure what size holes that has in it, but in my '94 Extended cab ranger I used the polk db series 5x7 coaxials. I had to drill out 2 new holes per speaker, but they sound great....
    Ludicrous gibs!

Rangers, like all Fords, should have 6x8 inch speakers in them. If you get the 5.25 inch components, you will most likely have to do custom work.
