power amps

i am thinking of going with a pre pro setup and replaceing my onkyo in 2 steps first adding a power amp and seccond replaceing the onkyo with a pre amp
my queston is is b&k good and would 200 wpc be enough
i found a 7 chanel 200 wpc for 2200

if you have a opion i would like to hear it

    If you are looking at the higher priced B&K's I would suggest looking at the Acurus Act 3 as a comparison. Very nice pre-amp and you can find them over 1/2 off suggested retail if you look hard on e-bay. They claim to be an audiophile class preamp which happens to support 5.1. I don't confirm this because I've not owned a real audiophile pre-amp but I can tell you it doesn't change the sound when put in line between my CD and the amp as other pre-amps I have tried. Check out audioreview.com as well. I heard of some power supply problems with the B&K but I really don't remember which model. I ended up with the Act 3 even though some of the first production ones had a hum to them. Mine didn't.

    outlaw audio sells a 7 channel amp i think it is 165 a channel you might want to check it out.outlaw
