That top video...
I have activated some home electric fireplace heaters out in my cottage now. I try to keep it 65* out there in the front and rear. I've been going out every few hours the past week to adjust the thermostats built into them. I have them dialed in now. BUT
The other night, at around 2 a.m., yea, 2 a.m., I went out to check since the temperature had dropped to 25* or so.
I always look up around the ceilings for roaches or spiders. They seem to like to climb up. I've seen a handful over the 20 years. I sealed the cottage very well 5 years ago, but I still see a little dead roach or spider once every 6 to 9 months or longer. Maybe a very rare live one of either in the back room up high of course.
WELL... 2 am, I'm ready to go to sleep after checking the temps out there and I look up, and DAMN, there a big black wood spider up high in the ceiling above the front door. DEF-CON 6 has just been activated now.
I got my trusty BENGAL spray and sprayed up at it. I now had to watch it to see where it fell to get it and take it outside. I watched that sucker for 20+ minutes as it spazzed a little and walked around in a 2' circle and then stopped right back where it was. I'm tired! Tired and don't want to leave it. I thought it was 16 1/2' up and out of reach and maybe not enough BENGAL spray got to it.
I have a 14' long small wooden pole thingy to take down my 4' wreath each year. I thought that's my weapon now! I balled up a wad of Blue painter's tape with the sticky side on the outer side. I reached up and poked it. DIRECT HIT!
I not only stuck it, I popped it. I took the spider carcass, still stuck to the tape, outside and put it in the trash bin. It wasn't small but it wasn't as big as some I've seen the past 2 weeks or so as I rearranged my lumber hoard on the side of the cottage. I saw about 6 assorted sizes of the same spider.
In my arachnophobic brain, That spider on my ceiling looked just like the video spider.
I had to see its demise at all costs!
I slept great during what was left of that night.
I don't think I want to watch that video up there...maybe the rabbit one. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

My reaction to seeing that goodsized spider on the cottage ceiling was DEFCON 2 or 3.
I had it backward. I thought 6 was the most serious. I read DEFCON 1 is never to be used. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
