MagniFi Max AX Dialogue Low

Last fall, I got a MagniFi Max AX and connected it to my TV via optical (PCM). The dialogue is very low compare with the music and other sound effects. I recently replaced my TV recently and connected it via HDMI eARC, but the issue still persists.

Any advice what should I do? Firmware is 319 from my alexa app. Not sure what is the latest firmware.

  • Here is a response from a friend at Polk:

"I suggest asking where he has it placed. For example, is the sound bar pushed back on the cabinet? If so, bring it forward closer to the front of the cabinet.
Second question i suggest is room acoustics. Is the room acoustics on the bright side. This would cause dialog to get washed up. Lastly, try turning the dialog enhancements to max.

    I hope this helps."

    Thank you for responding.

The soundbar is facing directly to me without any barrier and the issue persists. Is it probably my setting or maybe the firmware? The firmware is 3.19.

It seems like there may be an issue with the source device or source material. If you press Info on the Polk remote twice, what signal type is displayed?

It's already been a couple of months since the OP posted, I'm guessing he hauled azz. And, it might be me but, I'm also guessing his soundbar is not ideally placed. The first suggestion was to see where it was placed on the cabinet.....I can have my speaker facing directly at me with nothing in front of it all day long, but if it's to the rear of the cabinet, I have all that surface creating a 1st order reflection point. What do you want to bet dudes soundbar is nowhere near the front edge....
