Volume Limiting

I have the Polk Audio Signa S2, which unfortunately does not have volume limiting. The night mode does not meet my needs (impacts sound quality). Is there some hidden way to activate volume limiting on this device, or is there a 3rd party device that can go between TV and Soundbar to do volume limiting? Thanks!

Are you looking for a way to level the volume between various programs and the obnoxious pumped up volume level of commercials?

Most newer TV's have the ability to even out the sound, somewhat. It's in the sound menu of the TV. I'm guessing it will not tame it completely. In the sound menu it may be listed as nighttime or dynamic sound or something to that effect.

I think he's looking to keep the sound quality but at lower volumes for night viewing. Call me crazy, but how about just turning down the volume on the TV.

Part of surround sound in general is the dynamics of the sound, and that is really meant to be played at a certain volume. You won't get the same experience at lower volumes no matter what magic you use. Now music sound quality at lower volumes is a different animal.

Yeah, I don't know of any method or device that would maintain a completely level volume. The options are as pitdogg2 mentioned.

For some reason when I notice the volume is much too loud, I always think of what Elvis did to his TV.

Of course, it only works once.
