Need help setting up my first home cinema system

I want to build my first home theater system. After researching many brands, I decided that Polk speakers might be the right brand for me.

I want to start with a 3.1 system but with the possibility to upgrade later to a 5.1.2 system.

My total budget is 2500 Euro. 2000 I want to reserve for the speaker . The other 500 are for the AVR.

I am going to use my speakers just for movies and Gaming. No real listening to music.

The room in question is 25 squre meters big. I sit 3 meter away from Sony Oled.

I would have space for Floorstanding speakers and for bookshelf speakers as well.

Which polk speaker series and subwoofer would you recommend for me in the above mentioned budget range.

Thanks for the help in advance

Take a look at the Reserve series.

500 Euro is not going to buy a good AVR.

Thank for you reply. I will take a look at the Reserve series. Good to know that 500 Euro is not enough for good avr. Then I have to increase the budget.

How much would a good AVR cost as a minimum? Do you have certain AVR in mind you would recommend?

Imo buy quality mains and avr and add other speakers later

Take a look at something in the range of a Marantz Cinema 60 where you live. That may use up half the 2500 Euro budget, but as suggested above the rest can be spent on a pair of main stereo speakers first and possibly a center speaker and build from that later. Next step would be a subwoofer.

Thanks a lot for the further replies. Building the system gradually sounds like a good idea that did not cross my mind. It makes a lot sense though. That way I can invest more money into the single components which is good thing.

@Emlyn Thanks a lot for the AVR recommendation. Will check it out asap.
