I have long since worn out this record. Looking to replace it and wondering what particular format (excluding streaming) would be suggested for the best sound. Not looking for 45rpm...just too lazy for that.
Yep, my name really is Bob.

It is on SACD now. I have no idea how it sounds but it is out there. I've heard only two songs from the album over the years, White Rabbit, Somebody to love.

My recollection is that it's not a very good sounding recording -- but I haven't listened to it in a long time, and the only copies here are vinyl, and unexceptional ones at that.

Bob, I have two copies of Surrealistic Pillow on LP. One is the RCA Victor LSP-3766 1967 Stereo, Rockaway pressing with the black labels and the color RCA Victor Nipper logo. The other is 1971 repress stereo, Hollywood pressing with orange label and RCA white letters outline logo. I also have the RCA PCD1 03766, Grunt CD, Reissue, Stereo. Not sure of the issue date of the CD, but it is clearly the best of the versions I currently possess. I have not heard any other versions. Still one of my all-time favorite listens. Incidentally, 1967 was my first year in college, so age is showing here too.Post edited by agingboomer onEverywhere is within walking distance if you have enough time.
