Sansui AU-D11 vs Polk SDA A1

So I've been dreaming about getting my hands on a SDA system for a while now. But those just never come up for sale in my area. And today I found two, one in my city and another one like 10hours away. The one in my city is an SDA A1... Going to check it out on Sunday. Now I'm wondering if my AU D11 will have enough power to handle that beast (120wpc to 8ohms and about 180 to 200wpc to 4ohms). Another issue is that the guy doesn't have the interconnecting cable so I'm going to have to find or make one of those. And maybe get the replacement tweeters (although they might be peerless). The main question here is for SDA owners what do you power yours with? Has anyone paired the SDA A1 with the D11?
Opinions on the A1 in comparison to other SDA systems? The other one is an SDA SRS 2.3 but it's going to be expensive and loooong to haul

On a side note: I don't know where I'm going to put all these damn speakers. I just got my hands on a pair of ADS L730s that sound great and space was already becoming an issue.

    SDA 1 never came with peerless tweeters. The SDA 1 used sl1000 and sl2000.

    We will need to know which SDA speaker you have. Could you post pictures of speakers & if possible rear cabinet where the IC cord would plug into the cabinet. Blade/blade OR pin/blade. If they are 4ohm. They might dip lower then 4ohm & may need proper amplification with common ground amplifier

    @Godel if you use the search bar there is lots of info on SDA model speakers going back over 20 years. Very interesting archives on SDA & Monitor speakers. You can spend hours upon hours on interesting impressions on Polk Audio speakers. Good luck with your search

    That type of interconnect socket is a good reason to pass. Later models had a blade/Blade socket. Those cables are still available. That first generation connection cable is no longer available. Without the interconnect cable connected half the speaker will not work. In order to make it work you're going to need to create a whole new socket connection AND make a cable.
    The SDA 1a which is the very next generation of that speaker, many of the internal guts were changed. The internal midwoofer boxes and ports were removed and the crossover is different.
    Walk away. Trust me I have a pair of them.

    @pitdogg2 I'm afraid I pulled the trigger already. Been waiting for an SDA and got impatient 🫠

    If I recall. Some owners disconnected 1 tweeter on each cabinet. Possibly the outside one - I could be wrong.... There are many threads on this. Use the search bar & get your read on.... Another thing. Those crossovers are probably in need of a refresh, as they are 30-35+ years old

    No need to be afraid. As long as your happy with your decision, that's what matters.. I paid 600.00 - (900.00 in all shipped) to Maine for a mint pair of RTA15tl & I've had em 10+- years now & love em. Most would say I paid too much for them. That's fine. I wanted to replace my banged up ones I had. Im happy & thats what matters.... Edit: Traveling

    @pitdogg2 yes! Covers are getting a redo and as you mention the tweeters are getting disconnect... it just produces interference and combing and adds nothing to the SDA effect. So I'll do that, get the RD0 194 replacement and read up cause this'll probably just be my first full restoration project. I've been wanting to learn to do it anyway. I'll start looking for threads on the subject. If anyone has relevant links or resources they are very welcome. Also got a Sansui 800 out of the deal once I noticed the interconnect was the old one so I won't complain

    @F1nut why?

    Because they are one of the least desirable models.
