7Bs with 2 fuses?

I picked up some pretty rough 7Bs pretty much for parts the other day and there are 2 fuses on the cup, is this something "unique"? The cabs have the flat edge, badge on wood and peerless tweeters. I'll get some more info when I look over the weekend as far as xover and date markings, but these seem to be an odd mix of items. The fella I got them from said he was original owner and got them in '82 from a local stereo shop (Bryn Mawr Stereo).

Without seeing it in person, my first thought is that one is extra

Either way both those fuse values are way too high it appears.

Early Polks had two fuses. One for the tweeter and the other for the mid-driver(s).

Fuses look to be 2 fuses, driver & tweeter. Driver dated '83, one cab was still sealed very well, a 2.7ohm, 4.7ohm 34uf, 12uf and relevant coils on zover. Wiring board has no copper, just holes to mount components which are soldered point to point. Interesting.

That black Temple cap is a POS. The yellow mylar isn't much better.

I am not an expert on Monitor 7 as new as there (i.e., 7B), but I am really surprised to see two fuses on a 7B(?). My 7A pair are, I believe (??) pretty early, and they have two fuses (1 A tweeter fuse and 1.5 A system fuse). I thought that even most 7A have only the tweeter fuse(???).

As you, I am no expert either but it did seem odd for the 7Bs to have 2. The other other thing (again to me though other's may have run across it) was the xover "circuit" board was really just for mechanical support and alignment of the components, all components were essentially point to point wiring.

Are you referring about a bread/perf board holding the componants?

Well several of us have seen those in very early 7's. Those must be very early B's. I would have thought they would have the boards by then.

Polk was known to use up whatever was leftover from the previous version.
