Saw Sammy Hagar last night at Red Rocks, what a great time, these guys were fantastic!! Sammy himself just brings it, Joe Satriani was just incredible, and Jason Bonham is a monster on the drums, Michael Anthony proves he is the secret sauce behind the sound of Van Halen.
These four guys are a well oiled machine, and I will be talking about how great Jason, and Joe are for a long time.
There was a kid next to us, I’m guessing about 17-18 years old with his mom, this kid knew every song, he was rocking out big time, the wife and I were blown away by this kid, you could tell he was just happy to be there, having a great time, and a big fan of the music, that alone took me back to our younger years..
It’s amazing at their age at how well they performed, they didn’t miss a beat.
Loverboy opened the show, and not as tight as Sammy and the boys, they were still good, and entertaining.
Funny thing is, the last time I saw Sammy perform was in the 80’s with Van Halen, and Loverboy opened up for them. I was never a fan of theirs till that show, the rocked hard back in the day, I was very impressed how good they were back then..
Time hasn’t been quite as nice on Mike as Sammy, but he and the band gave it their all last night..
Anyway, great time last night, and the show is definitely worth seeing..

Sammy Hager was better live with Van Halen than David Lee Roth in my opinion.

I have seen both VH with Sammy and later when he and Dave did the Sam and Dave tour. I'll say that Sam and Dave tour was FANTASTIC! Four hours of VanHalen and both of their solo stuff. Sam and Dave left it all on the stage. One of my best concerts in life I'm very glad I went and brought along my oldest child, we had 9th row seats main floor, perfect !!

Last time I saw Sammy Hagar was in 1973 in SF at the Winterland.
.....with Montrose. 💪💥Sal Palooza -
Wow!! Just saw this. Thanks for the memories! Rocking Mike Reno was always a fixture in our home off base in '81, still jammin to Montrose at that time as well. Also resurrecting Bon Scott non-stop....shoot, we were a young 21 in '81......"Top-O-the world Ma"
Yeah, would'a been pretty cool to be at that concert. Red Rocks is pretty cool indeed! EXPERIENCE: next to nothing, but I sure enjoy audio and video MY OPINION OF THIS HOBBY: I may not be a smart man, but I know what quicksand is.
When I was young, I was Superman but now that old age has gotten the best of me I'm only Batman -
Glad to hear he's still going strong.
