Do power cables really matter?? Lets see what I found out....
Components: Emotiva ERC3 CDP, Marantz 8802A AVP, Emotiva XPA-DR3 Amp, all three connected with AudioQuest McKenzie XLRs.
Existing power cables: Pangea AC-SE14 MKII X 2, AC-SE9 MKII
Speakers: Focal Kanta No2
Music used: Beetles Let it be, George Benson Masquerade, Al Stewart Year of the Cat, Atlanta Rhythm Section Spooky.
Now given the lack of high-end equipment I have, I wasn't expecting much if anything.
I ran all four songs on the existing set up, then changed out the power cords, using the component cable on the CDP, the filtered cable on the AVP and cable with the funky ring in the middle (sorry @VR3), and ran all four again, then went back to my cables and ran them again.
The volume was set at 64 on the dial for all runs. The music I chose has a lot of instrumental, some percussion, lots of strings, keys, horns and various guitars.
The Vr3 power cords did this, cleaned up the spaces between the music, added volume to two of the songs; Masquerade and Year of the cat. The piano was cleaner and more prominent in both songs. Year of the cat had the most bass of all the songs chosen and was marginally tighter with the Vr3 cables.
So, to answer my opening question, YES, in my setup, power cables definitely matter...dammit!!!!
@VR3, nicely done man, very nice job on making some very decent cables!!!

I’ve got Audio Quest McKenzie XLR between my SA-10 and PM-10 and AQ Rocket 33 to the speakers. All still using stock Marantz power cables and one of my favorite sounding systems.

@VR3 when will you have more cables ready and for sale? Do you have any that are shielded? So Geoff decided to buy his set so i am making a new set soon to send to Joey. Once we reach the end of the demo I will assess what this venture looks like for me and will update!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

So Geoff decided to buy his set
Ironically, I've been window shopping pwr cables for awhile now, and taking a close look at Viborg cables which I believe are components made up in the Vr3 cables, and for the gains my system took on with these three, I decided, "why look anywhere else?"
Sorry @Joey_V , these cables are mineSource: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2
