R900 Mounting

So, I've been wanting to mount my R900's on the wall behind my tv, and forgive me if this is a silly question, but the channel for the speaker cables is at the TOP of the speaker, which means you'd have to curl the cables over the top of the speaker and back down to the AVR- Am I missing something? Why would the channel not run down the center of the speaker and out the bottom? Also, when mounted on the wall, both drivers would be firing down towards the ground instead of up towards the ceiling, whereas when they are sitting on top of your front speakers, they are firing up towards the ceiling. Just curious. Thanks.

I'll ask a friend at Polk about this.

You would run the speaker cable in the wall and use a recessed wall plate either behind or just above the speaker. There is a switch on the back to select how the speaker functions on a wall verses on top of a floor standing speaker.

    Wall mount position.

Well, unfortunately, I'm currently an apartment dweller (hopefully that will change in the nearer future), so obviously in-wall isn't an option. The speaker wires would have to be run up through the channel, then back down, which of course wouldn't be very pleasing to the eye. BUT, would there be any reason that these couldn't be flipped around on the wall so the wire channel is at the bottom, and the tapered end towards the ceiling?

Just put them on top of your speakers.

I'm no scientist but I do think it has something to do with the fact they're angled to project/reflect the sound correctly. If you had them the other way, they'd direct the sound into the ceiling.

This is probably the worst way of explaining it, but I hope it's good enough. It's my understanding of it, anywho.

    Here is Kim's response:

"He can use a ¼” x #20 wall bracket to mount these speakers and that will allow him to adjust the angle and give the cables some breathing room.
I would recommend aiming the diver and tweeter upwards towards the ceiling for a better height effect.
This way the front height Atmos data is reflecting off the ceiling."
