The camero is hardley a match for a newer M3, all that shows is the fact that the M3 is the superior car. If a 15 yo kid can out run a highly trained police officer then its time for new cars for the boys in blue.
Wish I was a polkologist then I could call my self Dr.warviper.

It looks like the kiddie thief may have been driving a 1997 or so BMW M3 which in stock form does have 240 hp. I'm thinking the stolen car had at least some modifications done to it because the stock version was limited to 137 mph and the kid supposedly cranked it up to 150 mph. The B4C package Camaro would be an even match for it in terms of acceleration and top speed depending on what light bar was attached, but the BMW would most likely brake and handle better. The police officer chickened out even though he was in the heavier vehicle. Interesting that the BMW broke down and the Camaro didn't though. The current M3 would have easily outpaced the Camaro in all respects.

Hopefully the kid's still in jail.

if that kid felt like he had nothing to lose, i dont care what car a cop has. cop = wife and kids at home and wants to go home alive, kid = doesnt give a crap about anything. the cop could have had a laborghini and had a hard time with the chase, plain and simple.

Another one of those chases where the COPS were more of a threat to the people on the road then the kid was.

if you didnt chase those who ran, more people would run, hence much more danger that just getting the chase over with

a chase, and whoever gets hurt during it is the fault of the criminal scumbag running, not the cop doing his job!

For chases like this, fly an Apache copter over him, fire a few warning rounds...if he doesn't give up, launch a missle, that would discourage a lot of people from doing this ;)
