WTB: Dreadnought for SDA speakers

I'm looking at changing my setup at home which will involve using a non-common ground amp. Does anybody have a dreadnought for sale or the transformer so I could build something? Not looking to go crazy here but just functional and sound at least as good as it does now with the common ground amp and no dreadnought. Thanks

    I asked the same thing months ago , and over the years … rarer than hen’s teeth…
    Finally decided to just replace my beloved 1C’s - easier in the long run .. more expensive, but easier.

    Best bet is to build one .

    Yeah, are you meaning you're looking for a KVA toroid and/or Dreadnaught built with one?

    As noted above, if you're not trying to go nuts and don't need the 1000VA transformer, you can build a Dreadnaught with the 800VA toroid, which is available off the shelf. Or you could maybe contract Dave or Trey to build one for you with the 800.

    Long story short

    I’ve got a 1kVA tranny and one of Larry‘s cases. In two separate boxes and unassembled

    … I’ve bought several over the years and I’m not sure which one of Larry‘s cases I have. I think it’s the Neutrik <sp> version, but it’s been several years

    I would have snagged this if not for the matching case I wanted mine in.

    Now having heard for myself, a Dreadnaught is a must, and Glenn has one available.

    I listened to it for a few hours Sunday. My 3255 class D amp didn't even get warm near the bottom air port, so there is merit to it helping your amp run cooler. I'm having a difficult time removing the 3M tape mounts from the ball bearing cup/feet because I'll set the converted 8TL's up permanently on the long console sideways. All I can say is the clarity and soundstage is HUGE from this inexpensive amp.

    Working on a deal currently and wanted to confirm one thing first as I was unable to find a post with specifics. My speakers are upgraded SDA-2BTL and the person who updated them before me went with one single binding post for the interconnect cable as they didn't use a dreadnought. Is the second connection to each side of the transformer the ground from each speaker?

    Where does the other connection wire to? Some of the old build threads don't look to be active anymore. It looked like the other connection was a ground reference from each side of the amplifier.

    Yes, it's a ground for non-common ground or monobloc amps.
    The dreadnought connection is between the speakers like the interconnect cable. On the normal pin blade cable, only the pin carries the signal. The ground connection comes into play for non- common/monobloc amps. If you're going to go with a dreadnought do it once do it right.

    I appreciate all the help and responses. Is there still a dreadnought build guide somewhere so I can fully understand the wiring? I will need to locate the SDA-2B crossover schematic also if you are saying that there is wiring to change on that beyond a connection to the speaker's ground post since mine currently have just the single binding post for the interconnect.

    Case arrived today! Transformer should be coming soon as USPS said it was delayed a little and one streaming amp arrives tomorrow although it may not be used long term in this setup as I'm not sure if it will be powerful enough.
