    Hello,
Which model subwoofer do you have?

Does your sub hum when the green light is on with no input connection? If you only experience hum with the signal cable plugged in from your preamp/receiver/etc, chances are the source may have an earth-grounded component. It is always a good idea when dealing with hum to remove any input cables to the sub. Respectfully I would perform the following tests:
    • Remove all wires going into the subwoofer that come from your preamp/receiver/amplifier.
    • Power-on the subwoofer.
    • If you hear hum with nothing connected to the sub, the fault lies inside the sub.
    • If you don't hear hum with nothing connected, the sub is not at fault.
    • If you don't hear hum at this point, power down the sub.
    • Connect the rca jack or speaker inputs to the sub and power it up.
    • If you hear hum at this point, you most-likely have a component in your main audio system that has an earth ground.
    • Good Luck!
