Squeezebox Touch/LMS - Lost access to Qobuz Favorites...anybody else?

I no longer have the Qobuz app to click on and do whatever I usually want to do like select one of my favorited albums or my playlists or conveniently search for stuff. Does this have to do with Logitech shutting down the mysqueezebox.com servers in February? I think so, but looking for someone else that uses LMS to confirm. It may effect other streaming subscription services like Deezer and TIDAL as well.
Bummer. I sort of have a work around but not so convenient to work with as before.

Hey George. I don't have Qobuz, but had an issue with Spotty that I noticed on Friday. Not sure I have it completely resolved yet, but it seemed to come back after I updated LMS to 8.5.x, and did the "clean up" in the Control Panel app from the systray.
I also noticed the disappearing app thing with a few other Plugins - the DI.FM apps suite plugins were gone for me, as well as Radio Paradise.
I updated LMS yesterday. I did the cache cleanup this morning. When nothing would play, I checked out the Plugins, and noticed that they were missing. All were listed for install in the 3rd party section, however. I added them, applied, let LMS restart, and all was good.
Qobuz is still listed, and looks like there's group collaboration on it. Community's still going strong over there.
If I understood correctly what I read through some quick skims yesterday, the newer version(s) of LMS allow for some plugin improvements. I suspect with newer versions of LMS, there are newer plugins to go with it. After I went from 8.4.0 to 8.5.1, I did notice a few plugins in the list that I'd not seen before.
Here's the download repository link. Looks like they're going to be changing the name to Lyrion Music Server, I imagine due to the discontinuation of Logitech's attachment, maybe? But since it's another L, we can still call it LMS
https://lyrion.org/lms-server-repository/
Note that there is now a 64-bit version of LMS, but it's experimental, so if you feel like beta-ing...
I'd like to see what Lyrion 9 looks like it. Might spin it up on a VM.

Hey Scott thanks for the response. I usually have upgrade-itis and go by the if it works don't fix it adage, but it ain't working now. This is what worries me though:
I still see the TIDAL and Qobuz plug-ins and they are still checked when I go to Settings/Plugins.
They used to show up as my apps when I went to mysqueezebox.com, which is now no more. It must be related. Maybe the Lyrion/LMS update will fix it somehow. It is a mystery to me how this stuff even works and it sometimes seems like magic lol.
https://lyrion.org/getting-started/
I am still jazzing out anyway from Qobuz in LMS with the workaround of "Browse Qobuz" and looking at my Favorites list with the Qobuz desktop app. Very awkward though so Happy Easter and FU Logitech.

Don't have a screenshot of before they shutdown mysqueezebox.com but this is what it looks like now:
This is apparently where it used to access the mysqueezebox.com apps that you have loaded.
When you click on App Gallery sometimes you now get 404 Not found and sometimes a red circle with a hash line through it and www.mysqueezebox.com refused to connect
So that's the deal apparently.
Scott, how do you recommend I do the update? Do I need to uninstall the current LMS first? I'm not doing anything "EXPERIMENTAL" so the 64 bit version is out lol.

I can highly recommend Blue Sound Node if you find the Squeezebox is finally at the end. You can also buy a module (internal plug and play) that replaces the switching power supply board which then allows you to use the linear power supply you use for the Squeezebox.

George let it rip. Back up your Squeezebox and LMS folders just in case.
I didn't need to go back for anything. I don't think you'll have any issues, but better to have the data just in case. I don't have the locations off hand, but you can probably find them in settings. Look for prefs, favorites, and/or OPML files.
Re: the apps, mysqueezebox.com was how you'd add apps and manage your squeezebox if you didn't use LMS. If you used LMS, you'd add the plug-ins for the apps. I think in the early days, you did still have to add apps through mysqueezebox.com, and they'd be available in LMS as well. Pandora and the DI.FM apps are two, for example.
You could only connect to LMS OR to mysqueezebox.com. If you ran LMS, and then connected your squeezebox to mysqueezebox.com, weird things would happen. I can't remember since it's been so long, but I think you'd lose access to play your local music files on LMS, and also find that your favorites were different. Both of these were because you were now using the online data set saved in your mysqueezebox.com account instead of locally in LMS. Another thing, I think, was that the device would drop out of the sync group because it was no long connected to LMS. Basically you could only choose mysqueezebox.com or LMS as the "media server" - these were two separate environments.

Which version are you on right now?
Shouldn't need to remove anything. Just download and install 8.5.1. Next thing I'd do is run the Cleanup on the LMS systray Control Panel. Right click the icon, open as administrator. Just select the one option that mentions cache, don't delete your prefences and stuff.
Might need to restart.
After the Cleanup is complete, go into settings, and find the plug-ins you need, and re-add them, and apply.
That should get you back in business.
You might hop over to the forum and search Quobuz to see whether there are any gotchas, or to see what the current chatter is on it.

@Gardenstater - I'll see if I can pull some notes together later on. I have a bunch of this stuff documented over the years. Evernote has just recently terminated the legacy application, so my knowledge management workflow is a little hosed up right now. (all my favorite stuff gets discontinued. this is the real conspiracy.) I know how you enjoy ridiculous amounts of details and inner-goings-on. Takes one to know one , though sometimes I just can't be bothered.
LMS though, is one of those things I truly love and appreciate, and all this business with the software and plugins, while frustrating and quasi-anxiety inducing at times, is part of the enjoyment for me. Just another layer of obsession in the hobby. For me, it's the intersection of audio, computer stuff, tinkering, and the music itself. Just as rewarding to me as sitting and enjoying the aesthetics of a beautiful piece of gear while I'm listening to music.
Quick side note here that speaks to my note above about backing up the LMS related files. Anyone reading this - if you're running Windows systems and don't have a disk-image based backup solution, I recommend the Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows. It's solid, free, and all you need is an external. Use your marketing-use alt email address if you don't want to put in a regular-use one.

Thanks for the info.! I'm still digesting it all
I don't have a "clear cache" or "Cleanup" option in the LMS control panel in systray so maybe LMS 8.0.0 (my current version) didn't have that.
Maybe my OCD will help someone else lol.
I appreciate the recommendation on the Windows backup because I've been negligent and it is just a matter of time.......
These are my current folders as far as I know:
Just downloaded the 8.5.1 from the Lyrion site and Norton Antivirus immediately quarrantined it LOL but I restored it. WTF
Before I do the update I might try disabling this and see if that allows Qobuz app full functionality to return:

On that systray screenshot, you'll choose Open Control Panel as Administrator. After that, in one of the tabs, you'll see the Cleanup options. I only did the cache one. You'll see what I'm talking about.
Yes - once you install 8.5.1, you'll see that there's no longer an option to enter my squeezebox.com credentials.
My antivirus flagged mine too. I'm not sure what mechanism is at play there for that. Could be reputation, or lack thereof. No biggie. Some auto-firewall stuff doesn't like the associated LMS processes.
There you go, yes, those are the folders. Poke around in there for any others you might want to preserve just in case.

Looking good Scott. Last time I went out of town I hid my external hard drives and I had to search a few places until I found them, to make the backups
It is making me start control panel as Administrator same as before but here is now what I have after checking Qobuz App in 3rd party apps, and I didn't have to re-enter my Qobuz password:
Thanks for the help!

Excellent! Glad we were able to get you back to normal. I think things are going to be even better from here forward with the project now fully independent. That community has been developing improvements for years now.
Really, it's not as difficult to set up and maintain as it sounds here with all the words and stuff.
I gather you didn't have to restore any old favorites or anything?
If you enable the option to start with system, I believe it will install as a service again just like the original LMS did. I'm going to be revamping my main home machine here soon, so will have a closer look at the setup and config then.

Nope, all my favorites and playlists are being accessed on the Qobuz servers same as before. I'll try playing some music when I have time later today.
As we surmised, there is no longer a "mysqueezebox.com" tab in settings.
I certainly can't complain about the generosity of keeping development going when there is no profit, particularly with apps like Qobuz that were created after Logitech stopped development. If you are reading this Michael Herger, is there an Amazon Music app in the works (?) and thanks to you and the others!George / NJ

I'm now hoping that Daphile gets updated with LMS 8.5. I was doing some reading over at the slimdevices forum and apparently some of the 3rd party app developers (like Tidal) don't want to continue supporting older versions of LMS like 8.3, which is what Daphile is still based on. I sent a message to the Dev to see if he plans to update Daphile. The last update was Jan 2023! Hopefully he hasn't moved on. Otherwise, I might be looking for other solutions...For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Interesting. Lyrion, the next gen of LMS (but still 'LMS') already has a v9 out for testing.
I'm (very) loosely working on a new x64 Lyrion deployment in a Win11 VM for testing. I figured it's probably time to start with a clean slate. My last upgrade to v8.5.1 seems to have some quirks. I have a lot of data, plugins, and integrations. I haven't had a chance to dig into logs, but carrying forward since 7.8 or 7.9, iirc, is a lot of in-place upgrades. Bound to have some artifacts that aren't jiving anymore.
