Single LSiM 707 - Atlanta Area

I use three 707's for L-C-R behind an acoustically transparent screen. I had to buy two pairs to get the three speakers I needed, so have one for sale. Midnight mahogany and 9/10 cosmetically. Has a small (1" x 1") chip on the rear top corner. 10/10 sonically.

$750. Prefer local pickup, but would consider driving a couple hours to meet up.

Fwiw, I would maybe consider keeping this as a parts speaker given the limited availability of all of the drivers

Thanks. Thought about it but I've got three 705's, and only using two for rears, so one is a spare. I know the tweeter module is the same, while the bass drivers are smaller. But, I'd expect that a failure of the high freq drivers is more likely. I've had a good bit of interest in the single 707, but if I can't get a decent price I'll keep it.

Interested but of a drive for me in DFW area. I’m doing something similar, upgrading from an already very good 706c to a 707. I bought a larger AT screen. How does 3 LSiM707 perform for you?

Good morning. I see you are up early this Easter Sunday, too.

I replaced my RT5000 system (with a CS1000p center) with the LSiM's and have done a lot of experimenting with the center channel. Here's what I have tried:

1. A 706 that I used with a pair of 705s for a while,
2. Three 705s for LCR,
3. 706 with 707s for LR,
4. A 705 as center with a pair of 707's for LR,
5. Three 707's for LCR.

I'd have to say that the sound got better as the numbers got higher. Config 1 was certainly good, and I could have been happy with it, but having the same tower speakers for LCR behind an AT screen just sounds better to me. I really like the 706 (it's upstairs in our keeping room with a pair of 703s) but what little lobing there was just isn't there with a matching tower speaker. If you have a flat panel TV and/or cannot put a speaker behind an AT screen, that compromise is necessary. Angling a horizontal center speaker helps, but those who have heard AT screens rarely go back. The psychoacoustics of an actors voice coming directly from their mouth on an AT screen is powerful.

And, as you know, the 707s sound better than the 705s. Not an enormous amount, but they do. So, three of them sound better than three 705s.

All that said, any of the configurations I tried sounded great, and I was happy with them until I tried something a little better. (How many times has that happened....)

I looked for a long time for a single 707 and am surprised that no one has scarfed this up. Three 707's for LCR behind and AT screen is the best front soundstage I've heard in my theatre.
