Hi
I am looking at some SDA1 with the two horizontal silver tweeters to replace my Monitor 10 series 2.
I love the sound of the M10 but they need some restoration.
Are the SDA1 of equal greatness as the M10?
Thanks.

Apples to oranges. Two completely different critters.

So you are saying if I like the M10 I wouldn't like the SDA?
-
No I'm not.
What are you going to drive them with? Maybe you didn't realize the SDA1 is a 4 ohm speaker that drops into the high 3.6 ohm range and MUST have a common ground amp. Do you have anything that will drive them? -
I don't know if my Alchemist Forseti is a common ground amp but it delivers 150 w at 8 ohm.

Well you had better find out. What I see is thisOutput @ 1kHz into 8 ohms:> 153 Watts RMSTwin mono design -
Great thanks.
I will have to investigate if my amp is the right one then. -
The SDA1 is not a desirable model as the SDA tweeter imparts a phasey effect. Many disconnect that tweeter.Political Correctness'.........defined

If your amp is common-ground or you can build a Dreadnaught, then consider this option....

You cannot use the dreadnought on blade/Blade SDA's where both blades carry signal. -

That's why I suggested converting the M10's to SDA's via CRS+ crossovers (pin/blade).Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.
