I'm trying to find rt7600 speakers. The only place I can find these speakers is in J&R online. I live in Charlotte, NC and would like to hear these speakers. I have a fairly small living room and from the reviews I have read, they would be perfect.
I would gladly buy them from J&R, but they restrict the states that they sell them to due to manufacture's restrictions?? Weird. Does anyone know of a dealer around Charlotte, or an online store that has them?

Thanks
These forums are great BTW, loads of info!

That's a nice price for the 7600. It's normally about $1049. Maybe one of our Polkies in the states they ship to can pick one up and ship it to you.

It's the RM7600 by the way. Might help you out as your looking for a place that sells it.

Where do you see a price mentioned in his post? I had to rescan it 3 times to realize you're talkin smack.......quit it.;)

EDIT: I finally found the site.......Just realize that the price that J&R is WITHOUT a subwoofer....you can use that saved money on a decent sub and come out ahead.....

Oh, and I'd call them about that manufacturers instructions crap. That makes zero sense......
    comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

    Doh, RM argh!

    Hippy? I don't understand.

Are these speakers still being made? I just sent an email off to the Polk website asking if they know why J&R would have that disclaimer.

I don't see anything on the Polk site that looks like it replaces these speakers. Just the 7200 model with the smaller woofer. I've only read good things about these on the forums here, I don't understand why they'd discontinue them if they are so popular. Didn't Sound & Vision just review these a couple of issues ago though?

Assuming that they have discontinued them, can anyone recommend an equivilent system? At the moment the only thing I'd want to use from my old system is the reciever, a yamaha r-v1103 and the sub. The reciever's a few years old, but I'm not ready to upgrade it as of yet. I've had the sub longer than the reciever, had it repaired once, and it's still woofin along. The speakers I have with it are a mish-mash of crud that I wont even bother mentioning, though in my own opinion a pair of 10 year old Bose 301s that were bought for stereo, should have stayed with the stereo. I'm sure you can feel my pain, but hopefully not. :D

The 600 dollar price is nice, any chance I can get better quality than these for a lesser price?

If nothing else, I have an aunt in NY that I could send it to.

Hey, I got a reply from Ken at Polk about the 7600s and about J&R's shipping policy he replied back to my inquiry with:
    Hello,
Thanks for contacting us. That is correct, as a mail order company we
have limited the region that they can mail order our products. If you
reside outside of the areas serviced by J&R Music World I could suggest
the folks at the Crutchfield Company or the Circuit City Company web
    sites.
Yes, the RM7600 has been discontinued and may be in limited supply.
    Regards, Ken,
    Polk

I just wanted to keep you guys up-to-date with the situtation. Hopefully I can get in contact with my aunt in NY. If anyone knows of a store that is selling them by internet or of a store in Charlotte, NC, please let me know.
    Thanks

I've been lurking for most of the day here at work (I have nothing to do until they need me here in A/V world :) and I think I'm going to go ahead and spend the extra cash on the rti6 front speakers and the csi3 center speaker. My only delima is wheather or not to go ahead and get the fxi3 surrounds, and I'm leaning towards the "go ahead and get em" side now.

I think I want something a little "more" than a htib. I want to be able to upgrade pieces in the future when I'm in a bigger space. I think that this set will do me for quite some time.

I would love any input anyone has.

You can probably tell from the first paragraph in this post that I work with A/V equipment, I work with PSAV & AVHQ, so I like my sound. It also means that as I get older, I'll have to keep turning it up to hear it :) I think I want a system that will grow better with me, and I don't think that a htib will do that as easily.
These all seem to be timbre matched for one another, so will play well together.

    Thoughts and suggestions?

    Thanks

    (EDIT)
I'm going to CC today to listen to the rti6's and the csi3
None of them have the fxi3, so crutchfield for them.

I didn't see any fxi's that were still for sale, I'm not opposed to paying retail, mostly because it will go on my credit card till my bonus arrives

I have to tell you that I am now a very happy camper. I decided to go to CC to check out the speakers, and they had everything there that I wanted and on SALE!!! I got the rti6's the fxi3's and I was going to get the csi3, but they didn't have it, instead they had the csi5, so I got that instead.
I really think I came out ahead on this deal.
    The rti's cost 129.99 eash at 259.98
    the fxi's for 262.95
    and the cis5 for 249.96!
I couldn't pass this up. I have to go to a different store to pick up the csi5, but they rang me up where I was and all I have to go is pick it up. The other store is only a couple of miles from where I work too.
With tax, my total came up to 830.86. I've seen lesser packages for much more than this. I feel like I got a good deal. I have the mains and the surrounds hooked up now. I'm running a bose vcs-10 till tonight when I pick up the csi5. Just with these 4 speakers I notice a huge difference. The sound is much brighter and much more clear. I had the typical post-college cobbled together mish-mash of speakers a 26 year old has. Obviously no thought whatsoever of actually matching the speakers.
I found myself actually avoiding watching dvds at home, but now I can't wait to pop in a few old favorites and start on the stack of un-watched sitting on top of the counter.
When I decided to go with the csi5 instead of the 3, I didn't give any thought at all to the size of the thing, just how good it sounded in the demo room. When I got home I measured the width of the shelf that I have to put it on under the tv, the speaker is 24" wide, my shelf is 24.5" wide... I ask you, could this be anymore perfect?
I have to say that I am already happy with these speakers, and I've only had a chance to watch a little tv and listen to a bit of music with them so far. I want to thank everyone for their help in this thread and for the dozens that I have been pouring over for the past week. You guys have made a convert out of me for sure.
    Thanks :D

I'm new to this board ... because I just bought the RM7600 in July. They are still on sale at Frys, but I don't think there is any Frys in NC. I bought them at a huge discount too! (less than half the MSRP) The RM7200 is also on sale on and off at an unbelievable price.

    Cool, how do they sound?
While I was at CC I decided to go ahead and get a seperates system and get the Rti series, the Rti6, Fxi3 and the Csi5, for a really good deal. All of them were on sale exept the Fxis. I got the Csi5 for 250. The thing is larger than my TV! I'm much happier now than the old stuf I had before.

The RM7600 sounds very good, crisp and clear for a satellite system. I'm very pleased with it except for the size. I also bought the RM7200 to compare. I would have kept the RM7200 if it sounded as good as the RM7600. The RM7200 is smaller and comes in the stylish titaninum finish, and it's a real bargain too. (599, whole package including a nice sub.) I bought the RM7600 for 499, and a non-polk sub.

For the money, you've got a great deal. Your system should sound better, but I don't have the space to put large surround or center speakers. Would you buy a sub? For music you probably don't need one but for movies.......a sub makes a huge difference.
