Hi F1, I have tried that number and extension a few times but I haven't gotten through. I'll try again a couple of times tomorrow. Normally, I get a message in French (even though it's their USA line) and I'm not sure if I should be leaving a message or not.

Well, since Focal is the US distributor for MF now I'm not surprised the message is in French, but still...

Try a different extension maybe, but no matter what if you don't get someone leave a message.

Edit: have you tried contacting MF directly? E-Mail: info@musicalfidelity.com

Yes, I did email <info@musicalfidelity.com>, and got a reply from someone (I believe in Europe) asking me what country I was in so he could forward to the correct local technical team. No replies since.

Next, I emailed <ordersus@focal-naim.com> and I did get a reply from someone who forwarded my email to their service department (ticket@focal-naim.com) so someone there could help me. Still no reply, and I've replied back to that email a couple of times.

Odd that the person at MF in England wouldn't answer such a simple question.

Not sure if John can help as he left MF years ago, but it's worth asking him.

F1, thank you for John's information. He replied to me right away with the following:

"The M5si is a typical single ended common ground design and for the money musical fidelity best integrated amp. "

So he makes two points about this amp which I was very happy to hear!

Kind of discouraging that I was never able to get an answer from MF, but with John's input I'm ready to purchase. It's been a long time since I've bought gear - any recommendations on retailers (or ones to stay away from) is welcome. Thanks again.

I would look at safe and sound. I go there almost every weekend to look around and buy stuff. Aaron is the one I would ask for. He is very knowledgeable on all of their products. I believe he is there every day.

    JCL, thanks for the recommendation.

F1, I guess right now it's Safe and Sound, Hi Fi Heaven, Upscale Audio, Audio Advisor, or Amazon (sold and shipped by Audio Advisor). There are some small local dealers around where I live who might be able to get it for me, but I haven't contacted them yet. Upscale is actually about 45 minutes from me.

Finally did hear back from both Musical Fidelity and Focal Naim, who both confirmed what we already knew.

JCL, I did end up going with Safe and Sound. They were great to work with, gave me a nice deal, and shipped it out immediately. I am reworking my audio/video area (new TV, new integrated amp, new AVR, new cables) so I should have it hooked up soon. I am really looking forward to using the M5si.

Now I just need to fix the air leak in the 2B's so that they sound their best again. All the gaskets check out good, so I think I may need to apply a bead of sealant along all of the inside joints.
