first new CD in 10 yrs!

Heart just released their first CD of new music in ten years. Just got it today. I've only listened to it twice so far.

First thoughts.... it's Heart alright. Nothing that new in terms of their sound.. but a few tracks do stand out. the first hit off the CD is The Perfect Goodbye. It's a pretty good song.. been getting some airplay here in the Northwest. the other song that kind of stands out is the first song.. Make Me. While I don't care for the intro.. it's not bad once you get past that.

If you like good old fashioned true rock and roll where you CAN understand the lyrics.. give it a listen.

    I've only heard one song by Heart - the Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters cover from their concert, which is on the DTS Demo DVD #8 - I really want that DVD. Their cover is pretty nice, might have to check out more of their music.

    Heart - Alive in Seattle, is pretty good also. They do an excellent Battle of Evermore(Zep) and Black Dog(Zep) cover. The SACD has an incredible "Live" feeling to it....real nice.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Heart has had a lot of attention paid to their catalog recently in order to help promote JUPITER'S DARLING. If you like Heart as much as I do you will definately want to check out THE ESSENTIAL HEART. Very well mastered from the original master tapes, this disc has a reall warm feeling with great dynamics. Also the Heart remasters just hit the street with DOG & BUTTERFLY and LITTLE QUEEN being the first gems released. (Dream boat Annie has not been remastered yet.) All of these discs will make great additions to any Heart collection, but I would highly recommend that everybody stay away from the SACD of LINE IN SEATTLE. I felt the sonics on this release were not up to par, and it is a lackluster release. (Danger Boy please post your thoughts, LOL!!!!!)

    that's good that Heart is getting some attention again. Their best stuff was from the 70's to very early 80's i feel. I listen to some of their music almost every week.

    I haven't picked up either one of the remastered discs yet. I did see the essential Heart in Best Buy the other day.

    I guess since i have their greatest hits from 1997 and 1998. I didn't see the need to get essentials. I would like to have Dog and Butterfly and Little Queen though. Dreamboat Annie is prob the one everyone is waiting for.

    Plus i still have most of their music on vinyl too. ;)

    Rocky, havey you seen Heart in concert before? I've seen them live three times over the past 20+ yrs. They still got it. ha ha ha.

    danger boy, No I have not seen Heart in concert, I bet they would put on a fantastic show. You really must break down and buy ESSENTIAL HEART, it has been remastered by Joseph Palmaccio from the original master tapes at Sony Studios on state of the art equipment. This release is one of those "cross label releases"; it has their material from Sony/Epic, as well on Capitol and Legacy. It is a really nice sounding collection and it can be bought cheaply on sale, Wal Mart $18.88.
