Polk Model 9 Tower Speakers

I recently acquired a decent looking pair of these Model 9's in a package deal. When I got them hooked up today to one of my vintage receivers one speaker actually sounds pretty good with decent bass and treble. The other works and seems to have normal highs but is noticeably weaker in mids and bass. It uses four of the 4" drivers, a Piezo tweeter, and an 8" passive radiator. Can I test the 4" drivers with a regular multimeter to tell if they are good or bad ?
Also, the cabinet is packed full of pink fiberglass, just enough room for the passive radiator. I'm guessing they didn't come that way from Polk ?
I think they might sound decent at low-moderate volumes if everything is working properly. Thanks for any insight and comments about these unique old speakers.

Howdy!
They have historic value, but the use of the CTS piezo without any added crossover hampers them a lot. They're... not great.
The 9A fixed the tweeter issue and -- popular opinion here aside -- I think the 9A is a pretty decent loudspeaker.
The 4 inch (maybe 4-1/2 inch) extended range CTS drivers used in the Nine and the 9A were/are quite nice.
I had drivers out of my 9A at one point, but I really don't remember the stuffing in them -- I would doubt it was pink fiberglass. Of course, the Nine and the 9A might differ in that regard, too.
You know the origin story of the Model Nine, yes?
