JBL Basspro Hub - 11"

My daughter just bought a 2021 Maxda CX-9 and wants to replace the Bose sub. I have not heard it yet but she states it just doesn't deliver. She's looking at the JBL Basspro Hub - 11" sub that fits in the wheel well somehow. My subs in the past have always been enclosed in a box of some sort so I have no experience with these wheel well mounts. Are they worth it?
Yep, my name really is Bob.

Looks like it would work pretty well.
I figured you would need to remove the spare, I was wrong.

I just don;t understand how you'll get quality bass, esp if the unit is covered. I see how it will probably rattle the heck out of your car, but good sounding bass?
