Reminders of scammers

I wanted to post a quick reminder of scammers looking to take advantage of you in the WTB section. I had an WTB listing looking for a pair of speakers from long ago. Out of the blue I get a DM asking if I was interested and referred me to a non-existant profile and e-mail to contact a friend of his who as a pair of speakers I'm looking for. I contacted the e-mail and offered pictures and a very good price, enough for me to bite but not super cheap either. E-mail conversation going, I decided to check on the profile that sent me the e-mail. Brand NEW as it it was registered the same day I got the presumed scammer's DM and no other activity.
1) I recommend check on the users profile in Polk Forum. I know they try to keep scammers out but they still manage to get in and lure you out.
2) try to avoid contacting a friend of a forum member outside of the forum, no history
3) guy kept asking for my phone number! Why?? Maybe trying a few exploits like sending malware or SMS MFA take over (I have protections for both).
4) if you can ask them for a picture of the item with this site pulled up https://www.timeanddate.com

It is a bad issue here, I wish the powers that be would go back in time and make it so new members cannot PM, DM or whatever you want to call it until they hit 25 post on the forum. THIS would stop a vast majority of the issues. As it is we're playing wack a mole as fast as we throw them out they make a new name and back in the come to start all over. Linking to hifi shark or any other site for our WTB or FS ad's is very problematic as well.

Where do we report scammers? I just got another from a brand new account @walt234
Add @RyanC_Masimo or @CFarrell_SoundUnited to the pm you got. They should be able to see the scammer and flush them.
