Maybe if my ship comes in I'll get a set of these. Been wanting to compare them with my Wireworld Silver Eclipses. Would be an apples to apples comparison.
    Gustard X26 Pro DAC
Belles 21A Pre modded with Mundorf Supreme caps
B&K M200 Sonata monoblocks refreshed and upgraded
    Polk SDA 1C's modded / 1000Va Dreadnaught
Wireworld Silver Eclipse IC's and speaker cables
Harman Kardon T65C w/Grado Gold. (Don't laugh. It sounds great!)

My first experience with power cords making a change was with an Analysis Plus power cord many years ago. If memory serves, it was the purple Oval or something like that.

The owner (John) of a hi-fi shop that has since closed its doors in Charlotte, sat me down and offered me a personal demo.

He played the same track on a rig that was out in the open showroom. Nothing special. Just a couple of bookies and some decent gear. This was back when they still had CDP's in the shops, if that gives you any indication of how long ago this was.

He played the song with all stock cords and I would listen to the first one or two minutes. Then he would unplug a stock cord and put in one the Ovals and we would play the same thing.

Then, he would unplug another component and put another Oval in. He did this again and again, until the entire rig was outfitted with all Oval PC's.

I could tell that with each addition, things improved incrementally across the board, but I was somewhat taken aback when he took all of them out at once and went back to the stock cords.

There was a complete collapse of the sound stage. The imaging that had improved all but disappeared and the lower registers fell flat with no more.....well, not as much definition.

This is one aspect that future audiophiles may not ever experience. Having someone take the time to do a full fledged demo like this. John and I were great friends already at that point in time (and we still are) but he didn't have to do that.

We were just shootin' the breeze about audio and he simply up and volunteered to do this for me, not knowing if I would even hear any changes at all.

This was my first observation that a PC actually could do something. It was a wonderful experience and even though I had already known about IC's at that point in time? I was a little skeptical that a PC would do anything.

John proved it to me that day as to what they could do. I thank him till today for taking the time to do that for me. I must have been through about 60 PC's since that day. Starting with the one of the cords from that demo.

So, I guess you could say that my PC journey started with Analysis Plus. It's been a wonderful ride since then.

    FWIW.

Did he tell you when he was switching the cords and which ones he was switching to, or did he ask you to guess which one was connected?

Naw, he told me up front what he was gonna do. I didn't think it would change anything, but I was willing to entertain what he proposed.

I was able to see exactly what he was doing
the whole time. He just wanted me to listen and see if I noticed any change.

It seemed to be a cumulative effect as he replaced the PC's one by one but when he took them all out and went back to all stock cords and fired her back up?

That's when I was taken aback at what actually happened. It wasn't a blind test or anything. Just a casual observatory thing. One that perked up my ears.
