I used to have a Adcom GFA545 and really liked it. Right now I have a recently serviced Hafler XL600. I see a Adcom GFA5503 local for $400.00. It looks to be in nice shape. I was looking at the Adcom 555 mkii anyways. Seems the 5503 is kind of the 3 channel version of it. I use my set up more for HT than 2 channel stereo. Still do 2 channel though.
What do you guys think. Anyone particularly better with sound quality? Obviously the Hafler has far more power.
Thanks!

Buy both and see what happens- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

no experience with the 5503.....but this Hafler talk makes me miss my Hafler dh500's. I really regret selling them as I decided at the time to keep my Carver 4.0 as my long term heavy amp and that thing's right channel is fuzzy now. Meanwhile those Haflers will last till the next ice age.

I'm still conflicted. An now a Krell KST-100 just came up. If the Krell is still available (I sent a message tonight) I will go get it. We close on a home in 2 weeks and I can't wait to get my system out of storage and set it up. Really wanting a new amp though.

Well, the guy on FB Marketplace under estimated the value. He said he had nearly 300 responses but did have a buyer lined up.
I really need to thin out my speakers and extra gear. Will start selling most of it and use that to get a McIntosh or Krell. Or some B&K mono amps. Anyone here got some for sell? 😁 -

Had an adcom 5503 for a few years. Used it for 2 channel as well as integrated with my HT. I thought it was a great amp. Very smooth, warm side of neutral. Plenty of power too.
It uses mosfets and is the newer design compared to the bipolar older 555 or 545 series.
