Whew! Just read through a ton of threads on speaker stands - and yet none of them carried specific info on stands for these monster bookselves.

Anyone using RTi6's that could just point me towards some decent fillable stands that can handle the bulk, I'd be greatful. Looking to spend under $100.

I saw some nice models at Parts Express that were relatively inexpensive. You could also try http://www.audioadvisor.com/store/categorylisting.asp?hdnCat=Speaker+Stands&sel=1&CategoryID=55

If you're handy with some tools you can make your own for MUCH less. I made some stands base on the design from TNT Audio's design

It was an easy fun project and you can make them look however you want. Mine are VERY stable!

    Hey Iomic.

I tried to see about making my own stands, but the materials alone would cost me 20 bucks a stand(thats for pre-sanded wood). I found a set of stands at CC. They have some Omnimount stands that are reasonable. The top base is about 6"x6". They had some big speakers on them, and even though they hang over it still holds pretty good. I think I might stick velcro to it to kinda hold it in place, just in case my daughter accidently bumps it. I am getting the 31" stands for $79.99 a pair. I almost got the 24", but the RTi4's might not reach ear level. The 24" is $59.99 a pair. Look for them on CC.com. I don't have my system up completely yet because they had to special order mine. The guys at my CC are way nice compared to the guys at BB. The CC guy was trying to take some money off to get me a good setup, but they were running out of everything due to the fact that they are not going to carry the RTi line anymore. Anyway, I'll get my stands by Tues. or Wed., so I'll let you know.

Yeah, I saw the Omni's at CC yesterday when I was picking up my H/K. The base plate did seem a little small to hold the RTi6's, so definitely let me know if the can hold the bulk.

If you are interested in alternatives for speaker stands. Look around for telephone tables, plant stands and vertical bookshelfs.
