I am doing something I did not think I would be doing for a very long time. I have decided to move on from my Simaudio 380d DSD DAC. I am doing so not because I am at all displeased with his performance. On the contrary, I am quite pleased with it, and very sorry to see it go, however, the opportunity has presented itself to move up the food chain in the Simaudio family and acquire the 680d for a very reasonable price considering it is a huge step up in price.

I purchased this DAC from the music room about six months ago, and have been exceptionally pleased with its performance over that time. It completely transformed my opinion of digital audio to the point where I began to wonder what else might be out there. It seems only logical to me to move up the line within the Simaudio family.

Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have regarding the unit. I take great pride in the condition of all my gear and this is no exception. It will come with the original boxes, packing material instructions, remote control, power, cord, and batteries. Condition is 10 of 10 on the Audiogon scale. There are no chips, scratches, or any damage whatsoever. I would like to get $1850 shipped anywhere in the 48. PayPal F&F or Zelle are the preferred method of payment. I will take better pictures of it tomorrow as I prepare it for shipping. I will also do my best to ship it the same day that it is paid for if you are a member with 100 posts or more and not on my bozo list. Thanks for looking. I am also open to reasonable offers and trades...

nooshinjohn, I use my streamer's LEEDH volume control, send the signal to a Qutest DAC, and then directly to my amp. Since most of my listening is streaming Qobuz, that's fine. But, every so often I'd like to play a CD, and that's not possible without a preamp in the chain. If I understand it correctly, your Simaudio DAC would solve this issue, as it has a volume control that could be used with the CD input. Can you confirm this?

It will allow any disc player or transport to be used… I run my Oppo 203 through it without difficulty. It does have volume control.

In the interest of full disclosure… this version does NOT have the variable output card installed. It therefore will not act as a preamp. Sorry for not understanding your question fully before I replied.

John, How does this unit compare to the PS Audio you had (IIRC)? I currently run a Directstream Jr w/ Bridge. I stream Qobuz through Roon.

The Moon was much cleaner sounding than the PS Audio Perfectwave I had. The Perfectwaves are pretty long in the tooth at this point, and this would make for a nice upgrade.
