My little tweeter project

So I had two options. I have a little over a grand in my wallet and decided to treat myself to more speaker stuff.

The RD2516-1 were like $204 shipped. I didn't like this very much. While eventually I will upgrade all of my tweeters in my RT5000-based HT setup to them, I decided to buy two A+ SL6502 tweeters and replace the ferrofluid in them.

So here's the project: Take my 3 SL6502 tweeters and my 4 SL5509 tweeters, replace the ferrofluid, and be happy. That's really it.

HOWEVER I really want to measure the difference this will make sonically. So I'm posting here because I'm wondering what you folks recommend to measure the sound signature of my RT3000p, CS1000p, and RT35?

Also I will use this to post my updates and progress so people who want to attempt the same thing and/or are curious how this improves or changes the sonics of the tweeter can see and maybe even follow along.

The two A+ SL6502s are currently in transit on their way to me, I am pretty excited not gonna lie lol.

    RePORTED!!!
(you gotta be wiser with your subject lines around here)

This sounds like an interesting project. Curious to see how it goes.

    I disabled signatures.

Okay so the 'new' SL6502s have arrived. They're from 1998 so they have the little dome behind them to prevent from being pushed in (guess how I tested this) and are in flawless condition. One of them has a slight yellowish tint to it but I'm not worried about that, the tri-lams discolor over time.

I now need to find the right ferrofluid. I need a low viscosity one. Parts express wants US$55 for shipping, the Canadian sites don't have any, and the other sites are charging extortionate prices ($20+ USD)

Ooh, so apparently it's illegal to ship ferrofluid into Canada.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'll work on 'legally' obtaining it and provide an update. This may take a while
