I imagine the 11's are rare compared to 10's.
I'll say it again, the only great sounding set of 10's I've heard were converted to SDA's. But that doesn't mean a @westmassguy modded set of factory 10's wouldn't sound very good with the lobing issue nixed.

I'm certainly no expert but I can say that when I did the @westmassguy mod and added cabinet bracing, my 10's became totally different speakers. I have a set of modded 7b's also and my go to speaker is definitely the 10's. In my room and to my ears they are better.

MTM redesigned tower enclosure with the PR on the side. Someone with CNC access could make a flat pack and have a little mail order business perhaps.

One could just mount the drivers on the side of the cabinets MTM and plug their original holes?

Or for the possibility that a side mounted PR sounds weird, a trapezoidal shaped tower enclosure could be CNC'd with the back wider than the front baffle and the PR could be mounted in the rear.

I would like to hear a set of 10's that had the lobing issue addressed without converting them to SDA's.

Easy to do, and free - just turn them on their sides.

One driver per frequency range works best.

The WAF factor just went south and taller stands are in order. B)

  • When I had my 7Bs horizontally oriented and mirror imaged by hanging them from chains up near the ceiling I never got the imaging that I had and now have when I put them vertically oriented on floor stands. Wouldn't the 10s have vertical lobing, which admittedly would not damage the soundstage as much?
