4 FXI3's for Surround Sound?
Hi all,
Fairly new to home theater. I upgraded my Sony de935 A/V receiver to an Onkyo 801 with 7.1. I purchased 4 FXI3's for my sides and rears. Just wondering if I made a good choice with going with 4 of them or using 2 bookshelves either on the side or rears in place of 2 FXI's.
I haven't installed any rear/side speakers yet because I moved to another house with a much larger family room (27X17) and need to have an electrical contractor run conduit down through the floor, accross the ceiling of the garage and up through the rear side of the room where the 4 speakers would go.
I have RTI8's and CSI3 for front and center with a Velodyne sub
Anyone here have any experience with such a setup?
Thanks
Mike Del

4 fx speakers are fine.....set them up so the speakers on the side have the woofers facing forwards and the speakers in the back have the woofers facing outwards.

Thanks for the reply Airplay. I was also wondering how to place the speakers. You cleared that up for me.

thats the way they are supposed to be set up, but some people like to have their woffers facing them....its all preference
put them in whatever way sounds best, you cant hurt anything by moving aroudn speakers.
on the fx speakers there is a dipole bipole switch, the speakers behind you should be set to bipole and the speakers on the side should be set to dipole....again they are your speakers so if you dont like the way it sounds then change it, just a flick of a switch.
enjoy the new speakers -
You answered another questioned I had with the dipole/bipole. Thanks again Air.
