I've shipped a helluva lot of gear over the years, even shipped some large speakers to Yellowknife. Most of the gear I've shipped were not in their original cartons or had their original packing material. I have never had a single item damaged. Why? Because I know how to pack and what materials to use. What I'm seeing in your photo isn't it.

I won't bother arguing as I'm really just in denial, I'll take your word for it. The number of speakers you've shioped is probably more than double my age.

This is the packaging. To the guys credit, I'd have packaged a C400i like this or maybe a pair of RT35s, but for the sheer size and weight of the CS1000p which immediately struck me, I can see how an impact would do it in.

I think I'm lucky that it arrived in one piece honestly.... Will see what EasyShip says.

Terrible packaging and will never win in a claim

Yeah, not packed properly. You are lucky it is in one piece.

Yea up to you, PayPal claim would be easy, shipping claim will not happen with that packaging. You may be able to negotiate a partial refund through the PayPal claim process if that’s what you desire and the seller isn’t playing ball.

Terrible packaging and certainly can see how the corners of the cabinets got beat up. I’d be filing a claim with the quickness on that one. Another one will come around

  • Right, bad packaging.

I think I have a plan. I'll see what EasyShip says, if they deem it isn't packed well enough I'll let the seller know.

I'm thinking I'll let him off the hook if he ships me the spare subwoofer driver, I can pay the few odd dollars to fix the corners. Pegs have been superglued on.

Tell him you will pay extra if someone else packages it 😜

  • I'm just gonna send him a video of how to package them lol. I actually got a driver from Ontario with the best packaging I've ever seen so I'll ask him to copy it.

The right driver rattles at near maximum excursion which isn't a problem for normal listening levels but obviously I'm gonna take a look (sounds like a wire, honestly). Left one is bent back into shape so I don't expect it to last.

Ya know, I think I'm just lucky to even have the center. It's so perfect and completes my setup exactly how I imagined it would.

And yeah, I need a new TV. Job interview tomorrow! Please ignore the mess, basement is going through some... major renovations (drywall, paint, trim, sound proofing, eventually a new ceiling hopefully.)

I tried this but I'm adding a second sofa so it'll interfere. I'm going to do some acoustic treatment once I'm done the room.

I know bass can get a little boomy but considering this is for HT, I actually really like the SPL gain (or whatever it's called) the further back in the room you get. Up close the bass is nice and tight, and where the sofa is it actually feels like explosions are happening lol.

Infact this marks the biggest milestone in my HT progress. I just have two PSW1200s I want in terms of an upgrade (and eventually a pair of RT35s but that's easy) and I'll be done, but they aren't top priority like the CS1000p is. Now that I've had time to sleep on it I feel much better about the purchase even with the damages. The seller is a nice guy and I'm confident he'll be more than willing to make up for his mistake, and it's really just cosmetic

That's my goal. Everything I buy (or in the case of computers, have built) was designed to last 10 years minimum.

Anyone use these before? It says the '4 ohm variant' is compatible with the MW7015 from the CS1000p and its tempting to order a couple down the line as a just incase.

Nah, still have no clue what I'm going to do after highschool. I'd love to start a tech company and do electrical engineering but chances are I'm going to go to trade school and become a carpenter or electrician.

Ask Jesse for some pointers yet?

I mean... I'd be open to his input but I'm not gonna bother him with my problems lol.

I'm taking a gap year between HS and college/uni so I'll have time to figure it out. My biggest issue is I live in Canada and our PM is a moron and our economy is screwed, so I'm struggling on whether I should move to the US or not and how I'd even come up with the money for it. I'd also have no clue what jobs make enough to be middle class (so I can feed my Polk addiction)

It's f***ing awful. Yesterday was my second day of grade 12 and I wore a hoodie and black pants because it was cold in the morning and it decided to hit 30°C after 2 hours. Thought I was gonna collapse when I got home lol.

Never thought I'd say I'm excited for the winter...
  • INSURANCE REQUEST ACCEPTED!!!!

Got a payout of $271.09 CAD.

This means I've only paid ~$290 for the CS1000p including shipping.

I got the center I wanted, the guy who sold me it got all the money he wanted, and I ended up saving a ton of money.

    Awesome.

    Hello, new to the forum

Wondering if chrisdo6 ordered the replacement Midwest speaker for your cs1000p linked in the post ?

I only have one working mw7015 , so looking to replace both

I believe this beast has been dropped a few times as cabinet wear is bad , I’ve refinished that almost the best I can without new veneer

Hoping to hear these replacements worked out for you

    Cheers

Hey mate, I didn't end up ordering them as my MW7015s have been fine and it seems bending the basket back is an indefinite fix.

I'd give them a go to be honest with you. It seems authentic MW7015 replacements are nearly impossible to find and it's well worth it to get the absolute beast of a center- the CS1000p- working again.

Thanks so much for replying, unfortunately mine has pretty severe magnet shift damaging the foil also

lawdogg has looked at pics, and has kindly offered to give it a go ,

I will order these replacements from midwest, and report back for other cs1000 owners

And I may have a working mw7015 for sale in coming weeks if other is not reparable

    Cheers to you both

Thank you, Tom. Indeed it is a dream rig. I'm still working on the amp portion of it, but in due time it'll all come together. Piece by piece.
