I'm really liking the SVS...just have a couple questions:

1 - I don't get the idea of the Phase control - can someone give me a short explanation?

2 - I have the 16-46PCi...is there anything I can do beside play with sub placement to get a more flar FR curve?

3 - What's the point of using some granite under the sub - will that diminish the bass?

Thanks guys...

    Phase: http://www.tubeaudio.com/page15.html

If you're not happy with the curve and can't get it to acceptable by placement, equalizer would be in order.

    1. Phase can change the time the sub sees the signal. 0 degrees is the same as the input, 180 degrees is the inverse of the input signal. The dial will allow you to match the phase of the main speakers which will depend on placement.

    2. You can adjust the phase or get an EQ like the Behringer Feedback Destroyer which is used to set filters to knock down humps and boost small depressions.

    3. The idea is that the granite will not transmit vibrations (sound) to the floor. It can make a big difference in reducing boominess.

About the granite, remember when I had that rug under the PCi. That was there to prevent the sub from moving. On the tile floor it would start rattling which wasn't very pleasant sound, putting that rug helped get rid of it. Just make sure the sub is firmly planted if on unpadded surface.
