Looking for a new 75" TV

Hello,
My 6 year old Samsung is still a nice TV but it does have HDR problems. Darkness on HDR is bad, John Wick 4 was so dark we had to watch on my bedroom 720p. It's been a problem from day 1 but now it's getting to be too much. Streaming is also suffering. it's limited to 5.1 no ATMOS.
Been looking at Costco LG QNED for $1500. My budget is $1600 and it has to be a 75".
The family room is a tad bright during the day.
Football is here so it would be nice to have a new set for kickoff.
Thanks
Loren

When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

cool but I thought OLED suck in bright rooms.
I'm leaning towards one of these
1. LG QNED looks great in store, reviews says it's very bright

2. Samsung, I don't know as they never came out with a firmware fix for HDR darkness.

3. Sony, some say Sony is getting a lot better

I think I'll try taking a flash drive with John wick 4 on it and see if the will play it. On my Samsung couldn't see the dog Lawrence was walking with for the first few minutes.

I just picked up the 65 inch version of that tv and it has the best picture in a bright room I have ever owned. Almost zero glare at all, and no reflections either. It is a great TV...

My 70" recently stopped turning on. After working on it, replacing all boards, I discovered that the panel is bad. I've been looking at 75 inchers myself and would really like a 77" OLED. Anyway, these are nice options: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-price/under-2000

Remember that stores usually have the Store Demo Mode turned on, where everything is jacked up for high brightness, contrast, etc.
I'm not sure whether this reverts to a standard presentation mode it you connect a source or media, but just something to be aware of. You would not run your TV in Store demo mode at home, obviously.
Unless it's in a demo room with lower level lighting, you may not get an accurate impression of the TV's performance if it's out on display in the merch aisles due to store lighting intensity and color temp.
I disabled signatures. -
Have you considered a projector?

I have an LG C9 65" OLED and have absolutely zero complaints regarding brightness. Maybe if you had massive windows opposite your screen facing the sun at certain times of day, but then it isn't going to matter whether it's OLED or not.
Putting it another way, I'm used to less expensive tvs. If you're coming from a big box store $399 LCD special from a few years ago the current OLED will likely dominate it in every way, including overall brightness.
To top it off the black levels cannot be beat, and there's absolutely no light bleed between any two pixels, even if one is pure white and the next is pure black.
Anyways, I'm a fan of OLED. -
Other than all of the OLEDs which have literally the best TV quality on the market, you could always look into a TCL QM8 or Q7 series TV if you want something good that will save money. If you want the best image quality and have the cash to shell, definitely go OLED.
QNED is a fancy schmancy term to say "IPS Mini-LED QLED" it'll have great viewing angles and good contrast.
Check out https://www.rtings.com/ for TV reviews, they're pretty thorough and will give you good insight. -
Lucky me
Price on the LG QNED dropped to $1299 for the 75". Delivery will be Saturday.

TV is in and set up
Picture is great much better than the 4 year old entry level Samsung. Watched John Wick and the HDR darkness is not as bad. so all is good till audio.
When I turned on the AVR it comes up Multi Channel Stereo. Does not matter the source on the TV, Netflix, Amazon local streaming off the NAS. All would only feed the AVR Multi Channel Stereo. I almost went crazy till I did a little research. TV is new with eARC, my Denon 4400 is only ARC.
Sound is decent I can just use the Blu-Ray player for most content, it does have problems at time playing MKV's.
I was looking at new AVR's, oh my they are now expensive for a 9 channel. About the only affordable is the Onkyo RZ50, all the others are way out of budget. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Nothing wrong with your X4400H that a Apple TV, Firestick 4K Max, etc won't fix for less than $200.

Yes I agree nothing wrong at all with my X4400H.
Guess I'm getting lazy, turn TV on turn AV on and enjoy. No having to change inputs or anything.
My Sony UBP-X800BM works great till I try to play an MKV. It will say "audio not supported". TV plays it just fine. I could just swap the Sony with the mid grade Panasonic I have in the bedroom. At least I won't be spending any more $$$
Then again the new Onkyo come with way better room calibration. Kind of expensive just so I don't have to turn on another device. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

I'm also lazy so I use a Harmony Hub to make it almost wife proof.
