LSIM vs Reserve

I do agree that the construction design and finish on the 703s is preferable to me over that of the plain box L200. Beautiful speaker. The L200s look pretty cheap imho compared to the 703s. Sound wise, though, the L200 is more pleasing to my ears.I disabled signatures.

Agreed. I do think that their intention with the L100 was for them to be surround or near-field speakers. With HT, a sub is already in the mix.The Gear... Hello all, I had both the PA LSiM 703 side by side with the PA Legend L100. I know that the L100 has a 5" woofer, is a 2 way system and the 703 has a 6.5" woofer and is a three way system. The sound reproduction from the 703 was unmistakably rich and natural compared to the L100. The L100 sounded totally drab. The difference was so drastic, I was shocked. So I checked all my equipment for a possible issue. I even switched over to a different amplification source and the stark difference was evident. After doing some work on the L100, I noticed that the crossover was somewhat cheesy. I'm familiar with the 703 crossovers and they are not exactly high end but looks like more engineering and effort was put into it. The total construction and finish that was put into the LSiM series is phenomenal compared to the L series. This is my opinion and I believe that most of you would concur if you experience both units.
Hello. Please allow me to offer you a very warm welcome to Club Polk.
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

Adding to my previous comment. Your comparison was apples and oranges. The L200 should have been compared to the 703 and I dare say the L200 would win as there is a disconnect between the mid and treble in the 703.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks for your opinion. Everyone has one or two or three...

Thank you Tom for the warm welcome!

when I find an L200 at the right price I will compare it
I don't believe that there will be a drastic difference but you never know. -

You obviously experienced both the L100 and L200 side by side. What did you find different between the two? And, did you compare the L200 with the LSiM703 side by side also?

There are some threads here with detailed comparisons from back when the Legend released, and there was a demo program.
Another owner opted for L100s, and wrote about them here as well.
Best way to search is to use Google from a computer (as opposed to a mobile device) and open a few tabs. Put this in your search bar:

Like I said, the L200 is the better speaker, it's fuller and better balanced.Political Correctness'.........defined

The L200 is an amazing sounding speaker. Very well - balanced and nuanced , neutral but with nice sparkle. They can handle just about any genre of music , and do well with good power. The bass is unbeatable on these. And again the most neutral speaker I have ever owned in my life. These are my endgame music room only speaks. Along with my Yammie AS2200 running them
Just my 2 cents -
OK, thank you. I respect your opinion. I will get back to the group when I'm able to compare the L200 with the LSiM703.

The worst performing for me are the LSi series. They sound dead and what are those stupid tiny port holes for? Both LSiM and Legend to me are on level. 707’s were my main 2ch until Nov 2019 and got moved to HT duties. I’ll probably keep them forever, not itching to replace one of the best sounding theaters.
