Magnifimini AX and SR2 5.1 issue

Hi there, my rear speakers aren’t receiving the LR RR channels correctly. They both play sound at the same time almost as though they’re receiving a mono channel. If I test the Dolby Digital 5.1 for each speaker the RR and LR play at the same time. It’s the same in All Stereo mode, if you play the rights channel on a stereo track sound comes from both rear speakers. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'll forward this to a friend at Polk for suggestions. I probably won't hear back until Monday.

    Here is his suggestions:

"First, I recommend a simple power reset by unplugging each speaker for 5 minutes before plugging them back in. If that does not work, repeat the pairing procedure by holding down the connect button and following the instructions."

I seem to be having the same issue. I have tried reconnecting the speakers and factory resetting the bar itself, and power cycling. The info display on the bar itself shows Dolby Digital (Plus) 5.1 from expected 5.1 sources. The device has been connected to the internet before and after reset for any available updates.
I have a ticket in with support, but were you able to get any more info on this issue?

I did find out what the problem is but you’re not going to like it. The system can’t actually decode true 5.1. It uses DSP to simulate the rear L&R channels so you only get an approximation of surround sound. The result is similar to a true 5.1 system upscaling a stereo 2.0 signal to 5.1 when receiving a stereo source. I was so disappointed with this that I sold my system and made the jump to Sonos.

A Beam 2nd Gen, 2 Symphonisk rears from ikea, and a Sub Mini. Blows away anything Polk produces I’m afraid.

Thank you very much for replying.
That would explain the behavior. So strange, seeing as the speakers operate seperately with Atmos content. Between this and the fact that none of their online or physical documentation makes note of the change to sound modes (Movie/3d) makes these products seem very sketchy/falsely advertised.
