RTA 11T worth it?

So once I hooked up my Monitor 5 Jr+ Series 1, I gave them a good listen and decided to go on a vintage Polk bender.

Someone locally (I'm in Canada remember) is selling some absolutely FLAWLESS condition RTA 11T. He wants $425 but said it's negotiable.

I was saving up for a TV... so here's what I want to know.

Do I wait for a TV and get these, and if so is he asking a pair price?

I've seen tons of people say the RTA 11T are the best of the RTA line. One thing I'm confused about is what the hell Real Time Array technology even does if someone could clear that up.

Anyhow, that's all.

They are part of the RTA series but the only real time array is the RTA 12.
RTA all voice coils are in alignment that is why the tweeter is sat back on the top

    I like the RTA 11T a lot.
Some were also labeled Monitor Series 11T, if they're still considered the same as the RTA 11T. I remember there was some discussion some time ago about a real "Monitor 11".

Years ago, someone wiser than I once said, "Don't buy gear stuff just to buy it." I did not listen. In my defense, I was trying to get ears on a bunch of different stuff, and there's nowhere around here to check stuff out. But this is how you end up with a bunch of stuff you don't use, and loss of a spare room.
    1. Do you need more speakers? (this answer is always 'yes', btw)
    2. Just curious and want to check them out?
    3. Just having fun in the hobby?
    4. Collecting not hoarding? (this is denial)
    5. Got an end game plan?
    I disabled signatures.

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes.
    3. Yes.
    4. Hoarding (I got over my denial).
    5. End game plan is to literally have no more physical room for Polk gear, thus forcing me to move out and then I will assemble the absolute ULTIMATE Polk RT series home theater, with the TV room, music room, and garage having an absolutely incredible setup. Along with another room just for storage of cool collection items.

    THANK YOU!

I could not find ANYTHING about the RTA tech, and the RTA 12 always fascinated me so much. I assume this was for phase alignment. Pretty neat idea, honestly.

Looks like that's what I'll be doing.

Honestly don't even have a spot for my M5JR+S1 (what a name) so I have no idea where the RTA would go other than my back wall for the collection.

You should have invited him in for a beer. If you want speakers that REALLY irritate your neighbors living 100 meters away I'd recommend SDA 1.2TL's
    Gustard X26 Pro DAC
Belles 21A Pre modded with Mundorf Supreme caps
B&K M200 Sonata monoblocks refreshed and upgraded
    Polk SDA 1C's modded / 1000Va Dreadnaught
Wireworld Silver Eclipse IC's and speaker cables
Harman Kardon T65C w/Grado Gold. (Don't laugh. It sounds great!)

@pitdogg2 I almost had a pair of AT-15s for $250 in mint condition and I'm still super effin salty over that.

Now my friend has some E-312s and I have indeed pissed off many people with those. Not a single amp I own can drive them to their full potential either.
