Given the unique requirement for SDA's to be placed near the front wall (less than 18"), do people recommend for or against using acoustic treatment on the front wall (wall behind/above speakers)? Im building a listening room, still about a year out but Im loving designing it on paper so far. Stay tuned.

Sdas are supposed to be like 9 inches from the front wall
I would lean towards diffusion versus absorbsion- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I've found 5 to 6 inches works best. A half inch one way or the other makes a huge difference. No treatments behind the cabinets.Political Correctness'.........defined

Here’s an early drawing of the front wall.

You will need to listen in said environment to yield the best results. Any advice offered would be fruitless until you do IMO.
At that point, you would need to revisit this question based upon what you hear/observe and then offer your gripes/observations.
The room is THE single biggest factor. That said, my advice is based on experience.

Are the drawings showing multiple pairs of speakers in the same room? If so one of the best things for two channel acoustics is to just have one pair of speakers in the room properly set up in their ideal spots. With multiple pairs they're all slightly activated even with just one pair playing.
I always liked to have some kind of wall treatment between the old SDA speakers on the front wall but haven't found the need for anything else. -
