Need help : Jm Lab mini utopian tweeter repair problem

hi guys

My friend have this speakers' tweeter fault and need repair, but we found no way to remove the back though we removed all screw, and tried air sucker.
Would anyone kind enough giving any input?

Thank you so much in advance.

And please pardon me for my terrible English.

    Remove all the screws

Take an object that is rigid and stick it thru the front slot beneath the tweeter and line it up with the back panel.

Tap gently with a hammer while holding the back panel with your hands

The tweeter is then held on with threaded rod and washers, you will see.

    Take your time

This is also a very difficult repair to perform to simply redo the foam. Focal does sell a replacement diaphragm but it is not coated

Side note, the crossover is on that panel so try not to tap against any of those parts

There is something I don't understand, though.

"Tap gently with a hammer ", where exactly should I tab? the front panel, or the object or the back?, thanks again

Above and below the tweeter is the port to the speaker

Stick a long object that will reach to the back of the speaker like a piece of wood or metal

Find the back panel with the long piece of material

    Tap it with a hammer

    It will pop off

Hello - I see this thread is a bit old, but I just acquired JM Lab Utopia Mini with this same issue! Did you reform these or replace the diaphragm? Any guidance on what foams to use / is there broad compatibility with other Focal tweeter foams?

theres alot of options on EBay from overseas. I also have a few that I have refoamed I could offer you if you wanted to private message me.

I will say this, this is not an easy process. I trashed 3 tweeters before I found what worked and even then the leads are very very fragile.

If you wanted to go the repair route yourself I highly recommend buying a 6 pack of foams and pick up a few TC90TDX (same dome, different motor) and do a few of those as a practice run before touching those. Focal no longer makes any domes or will repair them so once its done, its done!
