Long time no type.................

Hi all,

I've been away for quite awhile.
Now that I'm retired from guitar repair, I spend most of my time riding my motorbike and looking in on Ma, who's dealing with with late stage Alzheimer's.
I sold off most of my excess stereo stuff during the pandemic and all but three guitars to boot. (I still record a lot of my own music)
My neighbor's elderly uncle passed away and left him his stereo and I bought a nearly new pair of Polk S55's for 3 bills, which I'm using with my Marantz integrated (PM800) amp and matching Marantz CD player.
No subs or rear speakers anymore and believe it or not, I'm quite happy with the system.
I did get an unexpected present in the mail from a friend last year.
It's a DOUK tube hybrid, bluetooth amp which I paired up with an old pair of Pioneer full range mini speakers (in cherry wood).
It sound pretty damn good and eliminates having to hardwire the iMac into anything.
No more wacky speaker mods to post................which may be a good thing. (heh heh)

Welcome back, sir. Please accept my sincerest condolences for what your mother is going through (for you and your family). That's not an easy thing.

Thanks for the update and, yes, sorry to hear about your mother.

If you get a chance to drop by again -- by all means, tell us more about the "old pair of Pioneer full range mini speakers (in cherry wood)"! B)

Welcome back, very sorry to hear about your mother's sickness. We went through that with my wife's mother a while back, it's very hard to deal with.
