This a fantastic player and it's in great shape. I am the original owner and I have all original packaging. If you would have told me a month ago that I'd be selling this, I would have said that you're crazy. Then the upgrade bug bit and here we are. I used this as both a CD/SACD player and as a DAC and have always been pleased with it's performance. I have had the rare CD that it didn't want to read, but that's happened maybe three times since I've owned it. Since I am selling this, I will also be listing all of my SACD's (about 20 of them).

I guess not everyone agrees with us on this. I thought for $700 shipped this would be gone in no time.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
If I listened to CDs in be all over this ! I have the 8805 pre and the thing is a beast in the sound quality department. So was my 8802, (well it still is but it’s sitting in its box) so if anyone is looking for an amazing player, this is it !!"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

Ebay fees are close to 15% including the shipping charges and tax! They truly have lost their marbles
If I list on ebay I usually go for 30% higher in the hopes the person will Google search and find out listed on usam lol- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Dude, that's ingenious! No way you came up with that yourself....
Just kidding. That's something I'll start doing. I hate E-Bay.

Ebay sucks for selling big stuff but I still use it for small stuff
I will say international buyers will post the 30% up charge and the international shipping program thru ebay is amazing- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I don’t want to muck up the thread but he would make just as much or a little more selling for $800 plus shipping on eBay even after fees (especially with eBay’s shipping discount).
But Paul is a great seller and someone should buy it so he doesn’t have to!Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

I want to acknowledge that my friend Barbara purchased this Marantz SA8005 from Paul.
As you can see, Paul did a tremendous double-box packing of the player for its trip from Texas to Marietta GA. The player arrived in its already PERFECT condition. This is a great player and now we both have one to provide this Marantz sound quality.
Paul was absolutely great in this transaction.
The first disc we played was Chlara - In A Different Light SACD. It is an album of guitar-centric songs of her interpretations of 12 of her favorite songs. In particular, Hotel California on this SACD is out of this world. These are songs that make you say "Oh I know that song and it sounds so good".
Thank you , Paul.

Glad it ended up in a good place. If I didn't have an SA-8004 just for SACDs I would have sprung for this.

Agree, Paul is a great seller!

Thanks for the kind words Harry. I’m glad it made it safely and that Barbara is enjoying it. I’ll have to check out Chlara, though not on SACD of course😆
On a side note, it looked for a bit as though Harry and I were going to meet up for this transaction, but it wasn’t meant to be. I don’t mind that I didn’t make the 2 hour+ drive, but I do wish I could have met Harry.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that Harry (and Barbara) were great buyers. Great communication figuring out the logistics, etc. and super prompt payment.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -

Listening to the Chlara recommendation now and it’s fantastic. I’ll be checking out more of her albums.
Edit: just got to the last song and I was anticipating being disappointed. Norah Jones: Come Away With Me. That’s one of my go-to songs. I’ll still take Norah, by Chlara did it justice.Post edited by PSOVLSK onThings work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden
