SRS 2.3 and Monoblocks

I have a set of pin/blade SRS 2.3s, non tl. I recently purchased three used Outlaw Model 2200s. I use a Sony STR ZA5000ES. I didn't realize you can't use SDA with monoblocks. I believe when I first got the monoblocks (a few weeks ago), I may have had the interconnect connected and they were working okay. I could be wrong about this recollection though.
After reading that you can't use monoblocks, I stopped using the interconnect. I tried connecting the chassis of the two amps together with a wire last night. When I did so, as soon as I turned on one of the amps, the speakers emitted a loud hum-type noise. No more than one second and I turned it off. So... what does this mean?
What happens when they are used with a non-common ground amp? Will they fail automatically? I have been searching forums, the web, and contacted Outlaw support.
If I stack two monoblocks that are grounded through the chassis, will this create common ground? I am quite confused on the whole concept.

Some mono block amps can be ground strapped as you tried, but I'll say most cannot.
You may or may not have damaged the amp, but only time will tell.
To use mono blocks with your speakers you should use the Polk AI-1 or the Dreadnought. Both are an isolation transformer. The AI-1 is NLA, but turn up here or on eBay from time to time. Otherwise you can buy the Avel Y236906 transformer, put it in a case, wire it up and you are set.Political Correctness'.........defined

I think what you are wanting to do is tie the speaker grounds together. Not the chassis BUT make damn sure they are both on the same circuit and I would personally get the okay from Outlaw tech support first. But the best option is, as F1nut said, Dreadnought!Gustard X26 Pro DAC

"I cannot speak to your speakers, but I can tell you the negative speaker terminal is the same as chassis ground, and we've had many customers tie the chassis of different units together in order to help eliminate ground loop hum in their system." - Outlaw support
I had initially contacted them because the transformer was humming, but I tightened it and it fixed it.
Would it be different to tie the negative terminals vs strapping the chassis? I know the chassis is connected by a wire directly from where the power cord is. I will most likely just buy the dreadnought though. Not worth breaking anything lol -
No difference.
Without the SDA cable connected you shouldn't have had any problems. I'm not sure why your amp emitted a loud hum-type noise.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thank you, I will definitely not retry my experiment then.
