Ok, so we talk alot about the best movies out there now and since the beginning of time, but who do you folks think the best actor/actress is of all time? I'm not answering yet - gotta think about this one for a bit.

Jenna Jamison is a **** star. Not really what kberg had in mind Russ.

I'll start the ideas flowing for real actresses. Personally, even though I'm in my 20's and should probably be more modern, I think my favorite actress of all time is Ingrid Bergman. Any film she is in, I can sit and watch just for her. Likewise, her daughter Isabella Rossellini is divine. I still think "Fearless" was her best performance. Other actresses that I think highly of are Meryl Streep (Adaptation was killer), Dianne Keaton, and Ellen Burstyn.

As far as actors go, that's a harder one. I think there are so many great actors, but a few of my favorites are Cary Grant, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hanks, and Ian McKellan. Basically people who you can always depend on to really nail a role.

I will probably change my mind later but here is who comes to mind right off:

Julianne Moore - Probably not a popular choice, but she has turned in some tremendous performances over the past several years. Magnolia, Boogie Nights and Far From Heaven...she was brilliant in all of those.

Actor - Kevin Spacey is my current favorite.

Do you still have that Pioneer SX-1010? Couldn't reach you Sunday but if you still have it I'm interested. Putting in an offer for a 1975 house, that Pioneer would fit in nicely there...

I, too, am going to give an answer that most will probably disagree with. I'm judging my vote not by things like "gives a great performance", but based on the movies I enjoy.

I vote for Jonny Depp. He may not be a great actor compared to classics like Pacino or Cary Grant, but I like so many of his movies, that I voted for him.

In that same voting context, I also have to vote for William H. Macy. I know you said favorite, which would imply just one, but I just can't follow the rules.

As far as actresses, that is a little tougher for me......

I can't really get it down to 1 so I will give my top 3 actors/actresses:

Jimmy Stewart - Paul Newman - Henry Fonda

Ingrid Bergman - Natalie Wood - Elizabeth Taylor
"Just because you’re offended doesn’t mean you’re right." - Ricky Gervais

"For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don't believe, no proof is possible." - Stuart Chase

"Consistency requires you to be as ignorant today as you were a year ago." - Bernard Berenson

Ok, after thinking about this one a bit, I think Jodie Foster is one of the best of female actresses, and as for male, I'm debating between Chris Cooper or Sean Connery.

Best of ALL TIME could be kind of tough, so perhaps Best of Recent Times may be more appropriate. Still, pick whoever you want!

Best Actor: Ben Kingsley. If you haven't, watch "Gandhi" and "Sexy Beast" to see the range this guy has.

Best Actress: Katherine Hepburn. Won Best Actress Oscars spaced almost 50 years apart, as well as a ton of other awards in between. She had balls.

Favorite Actor: John Wayne--can't call him my best actor nominee though because being oneself in front of a camera isn't really acting.

Charlie Chaplin was pretty good too but he didn't say much. ;)

Favorite Actress: Depends on the genre.

    hmmm?

actor.. i think i like Tom Hanks.. not for his current movie. which i haven't seen yet. but it's not getting very good reviews. but for his past works.. he can do it all from comedy to serious drama, and does it well, for the most part.

but Samuel L. Jackson is awesome too. I think i like every one of his movies.. he's that good.

female...... i like Julia Roberts or, Geena Davis, or Nicole Kidman
