Anyone in/near Indy that could check and perhaps store some speaks for a few months?

I have a really long term itch that I want to scratch.

I found a set of ESS AMT 1b's on the market place that I have been wanting ever since I heard them as a broke student but they are in Indy and I'm stuck in Boulder until after I get my eyes fixed which looks like June before I can travel back to Chicagoland.

Anybody in a position and inkling to help?

I can probably help you. Just send me a PM. Avon is about an hour from me, but those speakers do look nice.

Wish I could help but can only say that, from a 1976 listening at a Hamburg PX, the ESS Amt 1b's are niiice 👍💯

EO's on the ship bought a set of the Amt 1b and a set of the ESS E4.
    Their shop sounded nice 🤗

    I can't help since I'm in NC.

    But...

Those AMT-1Bs are the speakers my wife wanted if we ever split. They've been in my living room since 1986. Yea, they sound awesome and I see them for sale every once in a while. 400.00 seems to be the asking price over the years. I don't know about it now. Seems prices have gone up on some speakers since the Covid pandemic happened.

The ESSs were the first REAL speakers I heard that showed me what I'd been missing and didn't know it.

I hope you get them. B)

The days of $400 for a set that works are long gone I'm afraid. :(

The days of people wanting and expecting it are alive and well in the land of delusion! That’s with darn near everything though!

Sorry for not seeing this till now.

While I’m much closer to Avon than @indyhawg, he’s got a better setup for storage than me.

Since they're sold, how much did they want?

$800 which I thought was a great price for a pair, somebody else did too.

Man. I'd love to hear those now, myself. That's a shame, Steve, sorry you weren't able to work something out on them. Sometimes the race against time works against us on the beautiful rarities. Hate when that happens, but maintain that it's still best to try to work out the details properly like you were instead of rushing and ending up in a bad situation.
